    Wave maker

Duke I fell sorry for you, system 2000 is a load of rubbish. They hammer your power heads and them they die. The power heads are not designed to turn on and off. Could try a eheim but it will shorten the life of the pump. I have add a few system 2000 products and they all failed after two years., just after the warranty expired.

Update MM sump another week on and the algae is growing very well. should be able to start cutting it in a few weeks. My po4 has reduced to .09ppm but nitrate has increased to about 10ppm up from 2ppm. only reason for the increase could be because i feed some live baby brine shrimp which would have very high nitrate levels in the water they come in. My acros are looking like they lost a bit of colour.

Maybe if you tried it you might have a better understanding of it and improve your tank, Funny how zeovit users show some improvements in their tanks , but for some reason your after pics look worse. Maybe the aquamedic 16000k bulbs you sell are not working or just the lack of experiance is shinning thru. I like how you can write more than 1 line now.

As they say it is easy to hide behind a keyboard steve.
  10. the difference is that if it between rock etc it will be utlised by worms, copepods, etc, sponges also reduce the water flow of power heads, I sure it would be ok if you use a sponge once in a while to polish the water,
  11. No need to remove every bit of dirt in the tank. detritus is good for worms, coral,,copodes etc, who has time to clean the sponge every day.??

down to 1ppm already,Thats good news. Well i tested my phostphate again. after adding 1L of salifert po4 remover. Using my colormeter i got a surprise, had to test twice. it read .35ppm up from .19ppm. so after using po4 remover for two days it went up. I think there is a problem with the meter as retested with deltec test kit and salifert, both read about .092ppm, which is low, bloody meter.

What sort of problems could it cause on Fays tank.??First there is no real scientific proof that phosphate removers cause problems when using with zeovit and she cant get RTN as she does not have any SPS coral
  14. Nitrate is caused because the dirt gets trapped in the sponge and then it breaks down. pointless using them as they get blocked and will stop the water flow.
  15. well put it up closer to the light
  16. i doubt it will be nitrate. get us a photo

Sure it might be. Just like zeolite which is dug up somewhere . why would it be snake oil peter.?? It states on the bottle that it is minerals and vitamins.

Tank Results as at 11/2/2005 nitrate 2ppm po4 .19ppm No major changes , but the po4 is still the same. Which is good considering i am only running a 1/4 of my skimmers capacity. Real funny that it is .19ppm again using the photometer ,as what are the odds of reading the same 3-4 times in a row.
