A very sharp knive. It was terrible I do not want to do that again. I had even asked a my vet's to see if there was a way. But I didn't get to talk to one of the vets and the workers said they knew of no way. Caper

Yah, I second that try the peas and let us know how he/she makes out. I was advised one time if I thought it was constipation to not feed for three days then peas only for three days. Caper

I always have my tank lights on in the living room from dark till 11 or 12 at night (unless I fall asleep & its later :roll: ). I don't have any live plants in any tanks. It was my understanding that it doesn't make a difference with the fish (at least mine haven't said anything ) as long as they have a period of night time for sleep. Caper -

You're right hard to say...because of his coloring. As far as I know, high ammonia will turn gills red that's why I was asking. Other than water changes, I have no idea what else you could do. You haven't added anything new to the tank have you? How's the ammonia today? Caper

Go to the post on here re: pictures. Photobucket is a good place & easy to use. If you post the pic here, more will be able to see him. Personally, I would stop using the salt. I tried it one time and ended up with more problems. It apparently has its uses, but I would not be adding it at this time. What are your readings? Ammonia & such? Caper
