  1. I like I like I love how you have the logs placed.
  2. When you look at the last pic you posted...it looks like the driftwood is about to eat your plants
  3. Wok...maybe it's time to make it an even number
  4. Nice pic 300 That's a lot of diapers and bottles and...oh yah, they're fishies
  5. You didn't put any fishies in yet did you? Yep, that's a lot of plants, I'm still too chicken to try real ones, plus you can't get much around here in plants.

    How many ottos?

   Bred them nope, can you sex ottos???? It's been awhile since I read up on them. I recently bought a book (& have a couple of others) but nothing about ottos in them  I try not to have baby fishies, platies, mollies, guppies all males I'd like to have at least 2 more in my 29 gallon tanks. But, I'll probably have to go to New Glasgow or Halifax to get them. When I watch them in the 10 gallon, it seems they're always just on the glass, artificial plants, or ornament so the first time I saw them in the 29 gallon just "zipping" along it was like, wow look at him/her go
  8. Post a pic when it's clear, glad things are going well. Hmmm, did you end up putting your baby discus in or did you put them in the other tank?

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful Personally, I like the bubble maker Did you have your tank made? It always amazes me when I see stunning rock formations while at the same time thinking, how the heck does the bottom hold all that weight
  10. Yep, that's what I meant 8) Looking forward to more pics :bounce:
  11. Thanks And their eyes, are soooooooo blue!
  12. Beautiful fishies The colors are fantastic. Billaney, I noticed that some of yours have shorter fins, have they not grown as yet or are they a different kind of betta? Penejane, I would if I could...but that distance thing just gets in the way :-?
  13. I thought you meant the carbon leeches back into the tank?? What a dandy piece of driftwood, wow I see a plant, will that be staying in this tank? How wide is the tank Doug?

    How many ottos?

You too! I love my ottos I've had my first 2 (Oscar & Felix) for over a year now, they're the ones in the 10 gallon tank & they do an amazing job! The other 2 tanks (2 each), I have had them for 2 and half months. Do you still clean the inside of the glass? I do when I do my monthly cleaning. Although I recently read, don't remember where, that when you clean the inside of the tank walls, just do the front, leave the back & sides if you have algae eaters. In the goldies tank I don't take anything out to clean except for 2 of the ornaments. The rest I leave to make sure they have something to eat. I tried the algae wafers when I first had Oscar & Felix but they never bothered with them, but of course the goldies did Can't remember if I tried the zucchini with them, hmmm. I haven't tried the wafers with the other guys. My first 2 I did get here in Sydney, & I don't remember what I paid for them. The newer ottos I bought in New Glasgow (on the mainlaind approximately 3 hour drive from here) I paid $8.99 each for them plus tax. But since I can't remember what I paid before I don't know if I paid less/more :-? Unfortunately, I can't remember the difference in our money and yours, someone told me & of cource I can't remember. So do you have an idea if that sounds like a reasonable price???
  15. Does this harm the fish? Anxious to see your set up Doug, my new tank is still in the box
  16. Over a year and up until this he never appeared to be ill in any way even survived a couple of outbreaks of Ich without getting a single spot on him . He was really pretty (I know, a pretty guy :-? ). While I was at the vet's today, the lady that I spoke to (not a vet, but fishy owner ) said they had nothing there and she couldn't think of anything else.
  17.  Luke   but you a r e right  But what about some the names of fishies, going to take stab at them
  18. Magneta what do you use the yeast for????
  19. Geesh, I can't spell either Luke   Thanks, I'll check that website out But, I think I'll wait to see what else people post here 8) just because it will be interesting to see if many differences   That is so funny about cichlids, because for some reason I've been pronouncing that one right :-?  As serious (& frustrated) in trying to pronounce the names, this looks like it could be fun...so mods, I don't know if I should have put this in the fun forum??? Jude, platy...pullatee :-? Okay here's some: neon...  just kidding 8) gourami...gore a me? otocinclus..otto sink less (sorta)? kribenis???? rasbora??? corydoras???? plecostomus???

Gannet...any updated pics of your tank??? Also, what kind of fishies did you get?
  21. Too lazy at the moment to go downstairs to see how the stand for my 29 gallon was made :-? 8) but I think 2x4's and frame :-? As was posted above, 2x4's would be sufficient for my 4' tank: 1) 4 posts: each post - (2) 2x4's 2) on the outside of posts, if you know what I mean (lousy at describing)-2x4's to "box" it in (top & bottom) Am I getting the right idea do you think :-? ? Another question, if you have enough bracing and nails, is there still a chance that the wood would warp???move out of shape????
  22. Love the color, very nice fishy pawz   chances are, if pawz didn't call him MR...I would have thought "peacock" might be a particular kind of betta
  23. I have to admit that most names of fishies, I can't even pronounce and I am not talking the latin names   Now of any websites that could help with that???
  24. Zev they are beautiful fishies, I love the coloring in the fins. But, are they a different shape than other gouramis, or am I seeing wrong because it is 1:48 a.m. here
  25. Very, very, very pretty! Do all gouramis have the long...shoot, forget the correct name...threadlike fins at the front...hope you know what I mean
