    WORMS

Travis & Vicki, just a thought. white worms and garden worms are related, they like the same conditions too. find out how this person cultures the garden worms and duplicate it with white worm and the right type of garden worms - you will have all the worms you need.
  3. Jordan , why do you not make your own micro worm cultures? bread or oats, a little yeast, water to dampen and micro worms. OR have i miss read your post.
  4. cool. and use the time to get more and bigger white worm cultures , if you want sjd's you'll need them.
  5.   thats funny Shae. they cost me $170.00 all up .
  6. Kerry I don't think I will hatch all the eggs.Thats just to much live food to find, even for me. I don't really know how long i'll rest them. It all depents no how many fry I get and how long it takes me to move the spare fish on. Incubation as above
  7. Marty, Well I don't think that would be the best way to put it , more bottem spawner. You can make a spawning set up with a fine layer of gravel a spag moss on top . I prefer to use 15mm layer of peat in an icecream container with a handful of spawning moss on top . I find a small number of eggs in the moss but most of them on the peat. I go throu the peat and pick the eggs out and place them on a clean bed of damp peat were they sit until you can see a clear iris looking back at you, 5 to 8 weeks but can be longer. At which time place the eggs in water and in short order they, hopfuly will have hatched
  8. Thanks Marty, I keep the eggs on damp peat ( out of water ), in a plastic takeaway container 170mmX 120mm . There in rows of 20 x 30, yeah I know that does not add up to 500. Will be breeding them for the last time on wednesday in this spawning cycle and will probly get another 120 eggs.
  9. Ya think i should put a post in private trade and exchange then. p.s I'm not kidding when I say I HAVE 500 EGGS, i do.
  10. MA I have 3 males and 2 females so i'm fine thanks . If these little ones grow I should be able to send some you way too. When I saw your one in the LFS I thought it was a female , these b/n seem to develop there bristles a little later .
  11. Yes Luke* it is small , but it's all they need. It all so keeps the food close to the frys mouths less swimming more eating . after about a month to 6 weeks the young fish should be about a cm long (mini glow lights )and ready to be transferd to a larger tank for growing out. I had a friend that breed neons in 5lt plastic cookie jars, it worked very well.
  12. Rain water is best steve , thats water 10ppm or less, a 10ltr tank and spawning mops worked good for me 200 + fry .
  13. I now have 500 eggs. I wonder if any body would like some ?
  14. I CatBrat, yeah there going great . free swimming for 5 days now. Luckly the breeding tank was part of my 1000lt system so I can move the fry with no problem at all (it's all the same water) , you know in case the other B/N want MEAT in there diet . Havent counted them yet may have some were around 20 - 40 , mum and dad are still young them selves so maybe i'll get more next time.

    Killie Pics

Hey your gold lineatus look great .
  16. Any pic's of your females Shiuh ? BTW, nice guppys they are really colourful.
  17. Well 5 days ago my 2 fry were 25mm , there now 35mm. 1cm in less then a week There both the same size and 1 is clearly turning from female tan to male colourtion . You can see the yellow in tail coming threw, i gess the other is a female but will give it one more week before i'm sure . I also , now have 257 eggs 2 or more days old . If they hatch ( 5-8 weeks ) it will only take 6 week before I will have them available to nzka members.
  18. Thanks Alan , Rob . The eggs had hatched when I got home from work today. There are only 5 fish in the tank ( 100lt ) around 7.5" to 8.5" long, all this spe. of b/n so all should be ok . However my new Iwaki pump has just cleared cust. which will improve water clarity and enable me to freed larger amounts of food. Just have to be carefull to begin with-changing water conditions.
  19. Jody, what do you think of STU-NOSE
  20. kribkrazy con grat's on the spawning . Noticed at the top of page you said you had a golden wonder panchax in the tank . I would move it if you can .I have a lot of them and they eat anything that fit in there mouths. Including baby bristlenose
  21. thanks Mystic , we'll see what happens dad is still siting on the nest , which I gess is a good thing. Rob , you noticed I wrote imported as I don't think they are hop's as I have a female that is ( any body got a male? )!, But there not the commen B/N either . Dereck H had a look at them and agreed .there body pattern is differant and there much flater.Definately something new. how / what would I register them as then ?
  22. Na FishBait , something better then " golden touch" or "hormones" I have LIVE FOOD 24/7.
  23. Thanks Matt, but no I'm not selling any cockatoo's just yet . I have the orange flash type and need to get my hands on the triple reds and normal forms , so i can breed back with the differant forms to keep the genes strong . If this lastest spawn ( 50 fry ) is succesful I prob will sell some.
