You can always remove the eggs with your finger and place them in a container with a little blue and a bubbler (float in tank).

rcon021 I didn't think there were any Aspidoras here??
  4. I have know idea what species are used to make the blue steel apisto. But many apisto's look simlier in face markings, you may say the samething if you saw A. biteaniata I have a 3 tear stand were I keep most of my apisto breeders, all the shy ones are in the middle. These guys are on the top self the're not shy at all there always out and about.

    CORYS

I just had my bronze go for it. I find you need to spawn them twice, once to clean out the old eggs the second you get good fertility. I was told by an old timer cory breeder that due to the dashing around corys should not have a smaller tank then 2'( other then the small species of cause). Don't know how ture that is thou.
  6. Love the khuli's too, Wish I could take pic's like that.
  7. Hi all. Ballany came around on his way home from the guppy show to pick up some stuff and I showed him my A. cruzi that had spawned the day before. I thought I'd take a few for you guy's and gal's to look at, there not that good but hay  This is the best of 2 males I have, all 3 pic's are the same fish Why are you hidding back there Snap Hang on whats that Yes they've hatched and it's her first spawn too. Hope you enjoyed.

Yes remove the parents, they will eat the eggs. congratulation by the way what species?? was it the bronze cats
  9. I hope you are having some success with you problem. But if your not it is my belief that white spot can be killed by temp above 30.5C, I know some one who did it in a 6ft planted tank with discus and clown loaches where med's were not practical. Of cause some of your other fish may not like it that hot. As to bio cycle, do you have another tank or know someone close that will help with transplanting bacteria and you will need to do water changes all the time, every day is best to reduce ammonia then nitrite as the bacteria comes back. Good luck
  10. Oh dear kribkazy, I like white worms as an important component of conditioning my fish for large and regular spawning but even I don't feed them every day let alone exclusively. Least say your favourite food is beetroot  how much do you think you would like it if you had it for breakfast, lunch and tea and nothing else... I can tell you many years a go I had a large pair of Jack Dempsey’s they got little else then frozen mozzy's a great food. But after some time of this diet they completely stopped eating, the only other food I had that day was trout crumble so I gave them a pinch They started eating strate away and I don't mean nibbling on it - they scoffed it down. Conclusion, well I'm sure you can work it out......................... Yes to keeping nets clean I use 4 table spoons of salt to 1 lt of boiling water to begin with after work, and place them back after ever use. That is if I'm using them that day other wise I make sure they can dry out. Have used 5% beach solution. Of cause they are rinsed before netting fish. It can be a pain but it is a safeguard that is worth it.
  11. If you got them from holly...... I think they may be females... look >>> Betta simorum http://www.fishbase.org/Photos/Thumbnai ... p?ID=27439 http://www.ibc-smp.org/species/simorum.html http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/encyclopedia-153.html
  12. Yes it's funny that they don't call them that, rather they gave them a nic name. Unusual for a species that was dicovered in 97.
  13. It's probably the first time thou's two fish have spawned any a antwan, see what happens in 10 days.
  14. It make you wonder what all these people on over seas web site are on about when they say there apisto's wont breed. Or maybe we just have water they like. Good work antwan, I wonder if my panduro's will breed as quickly as yours.
  15. That's not good Win, at least you've breed your next breeding stock. Kttk said Yes
  16. Check with NZ discus, he may have some or Bilbo but I have not seen him here for a why'll. My Inka50 fry have only just gone free swim today. :bounce: I do have spare females if you can find a male.
  17. We probably will never get them as the allowed list is all but finalised I think and no one will pay the $$$$$$ to put then on. If were lucky they may come in by accident. They are sooooo cool. Most microrosbora are tiny no bigger then a neon tetra.
  18. Yes as pointed to they are like Apisto's, but not as fussy to the type of water the're in as long as it is softish. If kept in a small tank YOU MUST be careful your male does not kill the female and the reverse when she has eggs. Feed heavily on live food should have them spawning in 10 days or less if the temp is right - they like mid 20's not to hot not to cold. Nannacara anomala are cave spawners but will spawn in the corner of a tank if no cave is provided. The Male is 1/2 to 2/3 as large as the female when full grown and stunning
  19. Nice fish Kttk, Yes they have been here before I was breeding them a few years back.I didn't find them hard at all. Although as with Apisto's the female gets super agro when siting on eggs. Antwan, You got a pair of panduro's SO SO JELOUS the shops down here just suck!!!!!!!!!!, they hardly ever have anything like Apisto's let alone Nanacara.
  20. Well I feed mine BBS you can't bet it for growth in a tank. Micro worm's are ok, I think your biggest problem is there in a net if they were in a tank of there own they would be better off. That way they could eat what ever you feed them crushed flake, muck from a pond contains heeps of food for cory's too. I grow albino corys in a pond one year fantastic colour, you may also like to use decap bbs there's some for sale on t/m.you don't need to hatch just hydrate before feeding. Hope this helps a little.
  21. I see your from CHCH, WCMM's are temperate fish not strickly cold water.Whats your temp??. The guppys will be well feed if they do breed though
  22. Ya they do have an Ancistrus temmincki, but I think it's in the tank to the right of the oscars. It's dark brown and is always hiding in the pipes.
