I have unplugged my heaters and are having a 2deg temp swing at the moment. What do people think of this? 24 min and 26 max with sump under the house.

Looking good Ben... More light is what I need but $310 power bill is enough for me and it summer with my heaters un pluged.

My father had marines back in the eigthies and when he saw my tank told me that they would all die as he could only keep one or two alive at a time with weekly water changes from the beach. I asked did you have a skimmer? A skimmer what! was the reply. Yes this hobby has moved a lot over the years. My father finds my tank to involved or too much technology. Basily over the poor old fallas head.

raeh1 good work. Like most I have tried a Copperband and was doing well by target feeding using a syringe. Defrost mysis and suck it up a large syring attach the syring to a stick and use a piece of small pipe to put another stick through to push the syringe and I had him eating from the end of the syring. Went away for work for a week and the wife did not do what she was told and the poor little bugger lost condition and I could not get his strength up again. Should have put him in the sump but did not. Got suck in to the stream

I syphin sand out of my tank when I do a water changes then rinse it with NSW and then add it back to my tank. I use a 2inch drain pipe with a funnel on the end so it does not blow around my tank.

Wasp they closed up and the skimmer went nuts... I'm glad my sump is under the house on a dirt floor because I was filling my skimmer cup in about 5min.... big mess. But it dired out quickly. Great stuff is all I can say. Read the reviews this product is good. several people on this site have used it and all think it work well.

Yes dosed with red slime remover, vacuumed and did a water change and it is looking good. The cyno slowly disapperaed and I am pleased. I will wait and see.

How is your clown? I noticed my male - tomato's white strip is not white like the females it all gray. I'm a little worried as they are a great pair. Ever seen this?

Anyone worked out how long the energy savings will take to make this worth while? Still not enough light for a serious tank. Give it time and we will all have these..... oh my power bill will love it.

Yes you want your reef tank where you will see it all the time, you will want to just watch it and sitting in the hallway watching a tank with a beer on a friday night is not a good look. Oh try and keep it off carpet but you will know this from your fresh tanks. We have seen a lot of people with fresh tanks want to keep a reeh tank also. But the $$$ and skill and rewards of a reef tank you will find very few reefers have fresh tanks. They generally only have one tank which upsets the wife enough. Try going on holiday for two weeks with a 1000l reef tank, worse than dogs and cost more than the wifes car.

I have quite a lot of current. L7 return and two 6100 streams. Might be a bit much for the little falla. Nice to hear that they do come out to play, maybe more time is needed. How long before the were swimming all over the place? Maybe I need another one?
