  2. Just making sure, but i don't think you would need such a large tank to breed discus. maybe a smaller tank around 60-100 liters which will require only 1 sponge filter but water changes is the important key. Also make cleaning the tank slightly easier too, as if you're using a tall tank i imagine it'd be horrendous,A tall tank of that capacity especially.
  3. Yeah, it would be nice if i could aquire it that way. I've taken look at the Stone And Water world website and i'm going to go for the rose http://www.stoneworld.co.nz/wawcs0112245/Paving-Stone.html It's $1 a KG, so i guess it's not too bad
  4. Where would be the best place to purchase rocks like this, or similar? http://www.african-cichlid.com/46Tank400.jpg In Auckland, just want to hear where some people may have gotten theres from.

  6. Awesome, thanks Phoenix. That was the sorta answer i was seeking, as for the red plants it's not too much of a concern. The only plants i plan on keeping at the moment are green so yeah, thanks again man.
  7. Just seeking opinons on an idea that involves me changing the Daylight and the Nature Juwel High Lite bulbs (both 45W) , into two HAGEN PowerGlo bulbs (Both would be 39W). Smart move or not? Upgrade or downgrade? Cheers.

    Jager in a Juwel

I realise it'll probably be fine, but just making sure.
  9. Hey all, recently purchased a Rio 180 from Trademe, though, the 200W heater supplied with it seems to be faulty. So i went and purchased a Jager, Jager 150. Just wondering if you think it will be fine in the filter box found on most juwel tanks, it fits and all. Just want some opinions, cheers.
  10. Yeah Athene. He's come a long way
  11. Here it is. The Livestream is really good too, not too sure how many would be interested.
  12. Sure, i'd love to! ( See a picture )
  13. Aqua Basis, how much would i be looking at for a decent amount of that? Proposed tank size is 101x41x50 cm
  14. Forgot to mention, that with Jennifers Propagating Sand, Daltons i believe it is. I'm concerned that there will be too many pebbles or whatever they are. Not much of a pebble kinda dude..
  15. There are some nice looking Crypts too i've seen. Or do you think that, adding things to help certain plants growth can be implemented in the future?
  16. What Kinbote linked is really nice, it's similar to what Jennifer has in her Birthday tank post: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=46595 While i'm redoing a substrate change, would it be beneficial to put anything underneath the gravel that can open up future options? There is some Daltons Aquatic Mix unopened in the garage, i also read the CO2 Post, and how Phoenix44's shells help keep the pH stable. I would like to have nice plant growth in the tank, the plant with the biggest potential to get huge that i have my eyes on would be the Tiger Lotus. But then again, anything green i'm attracted to. So yeah, is there anything special i can do now, that'll reap benefits in the future?
  17. Hey FNZAS, just looking for a sandy substrate for my next tank. Colour i haven't thought too much about, but the nice generic sand colour would be ideal. But then again, something dark wouldn't be disliked either. End of the day, i'm looking for a fine substrate. And would love to hear suggestions along with pricings and ways to acquire it, cheers. (Really general question i know.)
