    Discus plague??

Hey. I have 3 Disucs. Blue Troq, Red zebra, Red dragon. Have you treated your discus for worms/flukes/hex? My Red Dragon Discus had Fin Rot Before. About 2 weeks ago. Yes, the smallest one is the red dragon discus. I bought him from a breeder on trademe and after purchase, we found out that his fin are rotting. We treated him in another tank. After he got better. We placed him with the main tank again. Yes. Whenever we change the water. We try our best to match them.

    Discus plague??

One of my discus has a black tail for a week now, has been doing water changes everyday. I think its the discus plague, what is the most efficient way to cure it? I also have a discus that is always being bullied by our first discus whenever it goes near a smaller one, what can i do to lessen the aggressiveness? I have a planted 151L tank There are 4 yoyo loaches, 4 clown loaches, 5 neons and 1 silvertip tetra, 2 chocolate pleco and 1 black whiptail. Ph 6.5 Nitrite 0 Ammonia 0.50ppm Nitrate 20ppm I have high ammonia and nitrate levels and no nitrite-so how can i solve these two problems?

  4. Yeah, they're probabaly my favourite specie of Corydoras. Too bad they're not as common as some of the other breeds!
  5. Yeah, i would actually be somewhat interested. I almost prefer slow growing fish, watching them grow is rad. :B
  6. Awesome, i'll be sure to give some fish stores a call aswell. And yes, it's Lugia ^v^
  7. Alright cool, i'll give it a look thanks! Also wondering if anyone has seen them at there LFS, and if so how much!
  8. Simple question, are these available in NZ? http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=1
  9. Yeah, i checked out a nearby Animates, the only thing that came close was a 32$ Juwel Diffuser. So without a doubt Bunnings will be where i solve this problem, thanks again.
  10. Sorry if i didn't make it clear enough! But yeah, Bunnings eh, i'll have to take a trip to see what they have. Because yeah, those attachments on more of the modern Filters like that look so slick, but i'm pretty sure they won't sell those seperately -.- .
  11. http://www.aa-aquarium.com/catalog/images/AA4467.jpg Similar to that, if not exactly the same. It's just the downward flow creates craters, and yeah, i prefer not to put a rock there if possible.
  12. Hey all, I was wondering if anyone knew the correct term for the attachment that re-directs the water output of most overhead filters? I'm pretty sure it's called a Diffuser of some sort, but searches on the internet don't return anything promising. All i was wondering was if someone knew where i could obtain one of these attachments, as the current downward uncontrolled flow is creating a crater in my fine substrate. Would be a great deal of help, thanks
  13. Thanks for that Livingart, Once i add a piece of wood or some type of foliage, the issue should disappear!
  14. Hey FNZAS, i've recently set up a 53L Tank (AA601) and am currently having a few problems. :-? The first is that the tank substrate i chose was Blue World Aquarium Gravel, and that the overhead filter is creating craters due to the water flowing vertically down. I added a bit more water, so now it's at the max line, it still is creating a small crater in one area, i've thought about it and i think the best solution would be a 90 Degree L shaped tube to redirect the downward flow, however i am not aware of where i can get one of these. The second is that i have an Air stone also, that's around 25cm long or so, and that the bubbles from the air stone are being trapped underneath the Over head filter and is generating an unpleasant popping noise. The Air stone is located at the back wall of the tank. Reason for this post is just to see if anyone has had a similar problem in the past and would like to share how there issue was resolved, or just for anyone to lend some aid. Thank you~
