  1. Yip, my hydro reads 25 with NSW. Should be all good. However I just checked and its actually closer to 24. ...adding some salt.......
  2. Cheers, The tang is eating. I thought they were always a little skinny! I'll keep an eye out. Thanks.
  3. My Blue tang still has it and wont get rid of it. Please someone tell me what do I do, Or should I just sit back and watch? Getting a little frustrated here. Garlic aint doing much on the grand scale of things and don't want to keep infecting the system with it either. What do you guys do?
  4. Yeah I might add carbon also on top of resin maybe. Give that a shot. Getting a bit too much now. My salinity is bang on 25.
  5. She's still alive, but not a happy camper as yet. Still no sign of decay and still ejecting crap 8 days later!
  6. I have directed the smaller pump directly onto her and she seems to like it.
  7. I have two sump feeds into the main tank. One large and one small for lower corner current. This along with time and she is definitely improving. Will update with pics soon.
  8. I thought you would get lots of different answers here!
  9. Do you get Catseyes in ChCh? (Snails in rock pools).
  10. You mean Caulerpa? The algae. Phosphates of .5 arent that bad at the moment. Your new rock will be letting a bit go while it is clearing up its crap. Phosphates up to and even over 1 wont kill much except for some harder to keep corals. These shouldnt be introduced for a fairly long time anyway so as to allow the tank to mature. At worst you will grow some more algae on your rocks.
  11. The diatom bloom will pass also and you may even experiance severe cloudiness. This happens sometimes but will go away with time. I got a bad case of cloudiness on initial set up which cleared. Just let it happen. Hair algae should stay to a minimum if you keep your levels right. The next stage will be green algae which lasts for a lot longer and sticks to the glass a bit better!
  12. Most phosphate removals are expensive, You have media similar to activated carbon. Or polymer resin materials or Zeovit. Another option is to grow macralgae in your sump which really works. I have been doing this for a month and the levels are gradually getting very small. UNDERFEED is the best method, but can be hard sometimes. A decent feed every two days will help rather than twice a day. I am sure you will get more advice on this post as everybody's posts help out in one way or another! Good luck. Craig
  13. Thanks for all your posts people.
  14. I was talking to someone, Im not too sure who now. They had heard that the souce destination may be having a weak family line in them or something like that. Dunno but he heard that a few people in the States have been writing in saying how difficult they were to keep. May have been on a USA website somewhere. No one apparently knows why they have become harder to keep. Just info given to me. I dont know its integrity.
  15. I have heard of difficulties with lemons lately, A BAD BATCH PERHAPS!
  16. Good move ben, I lost my lemonpeel last week due to exactly the same thing. He wouldnt eat. Was getting harrassed by othe fish too. Couldnt get him out. She now down toilet.

  21. What do you think shes actually doing?
  22. Cheers Pies, I have the same good conditions. 250W Hallide about 12 inches under with heaps of current. Will keep you posted. Thanks for your time!

    Return noise

Mine did the same. Get some 20mm mattress foam and cut to the exact size of the overflow shape. Then cut about 3 or 4 20mm holes in this evenly spaced. It works very well, but requires a fortnightly flush, as it is a very efficient mechanical pre filter.
  25. Hey Pies, As in getting pulled in or from excessive current movement? That what you mean? My pumps are anemone proofed and well hidden behind walls. No chance of getting sucked up! The current surrounding the anemone is softly but firm. perfect as far as I can see. Wahtya think?
