  1. Nah, Ive got heps of water movement, I got pumps for Africa. The first shot may have been whilst I was in maintenance mode or something.
  2. The lights are now on, two hours after the water change and she is just starting to open again!
  3. That's what I am thinking also, Am just wondering whether anyone else has experienced similar things. My other anemone, (Added after skimming most of the crap out), is doing beautifully.
  4. She has been doing this every day on and off for about 5 days now. In between she grows back to normal and repeats these episodes. When normal she is perfectly healthy again! Cheers
  5. And this is what she looks like now, directly after the water change. No sign of decay, she seems annoyed with something. ANY IDEAS people? Cheers Craig
  6. Hoping for some experienced advice from you guys. Been running a new tank for about 3-4 months. Everything good. Nitrate never over 40, at 15 at the moment. All other levels ok. introduced a new Blue tang 2 odd weeks ago. She got whitespot due to travel and decided to hand some to the other tank mates! I have used garlic, (A bit of juice directly in the tank, plus garlic in the food for about 4 days). (This has been for about 8 or 9 days now). I also was told and read that "Melafix" is reef safe and good for general healing etc. I have dosed with this and some "Stop Parasite" from Salifert, (Reef safe also). Since doing these dosings, my large LTA has been doing some weird and ugly things. (Pics below). It also did a tiny Poo! Today I have done 25% water change and added polymer resin to remove any other crap.

    Carbon

10 micron material available in Auckland will stop blocking bacterial colonising materials. It also pulls heaps of DOCS from the water column prior to the skimmer.

I am running poly filter from the States. A polymer impregnated filter wool that removes phosphates, ammonia, plus a heap of medications and other materials also. Higly recommended by Fenner, so I got some. Bloody expensive, but seems to do the job, but probably would be better if I put a decent amount in! I'm a bit tight to stick too much in as the price is phenomenal! Type in "poly bio marine" in google and look for POLY FILTER

Another way to dose calcium a bit easier than Kalkwasser is to use Reef Success Calk. No need to settle, just chuck it in the sump, and it also adjusts KH for you as well. Very convenient stuff.

Hey Pies, I can never get to your site for some reason! The page just blanks out.

    Calcium Levels

Hey Reef, thats why I have high KH. Purely for the reason of extremely stable PH. Rapid or quick changes in PH are dangerous.
