    Ich

Right..... third dose has been installed...this time I wont run out of the damn stuff. I have heaps! ALL visible ich has gone from fish. Now just finish the dosinf for 40 odd days to rid all the MV and remaining ICH. Going very well. Reef is trying it as he has a mild case....working well for him too I think. Reef?

    Coals spawning

Awesome dude....will be good to see if they find a home and grow. More frags everyone!!!
  6. No, stirring the bed removes craploads of detritus, Mainly harmless into the water column which is then thrown down the overflow. It also removes oxic areas allowing them to build up again. (Air bubble release whilst stirring). This process also feeds the corals as small microplankton is in this "dirty water column" for a short time and has obviously got lots of little greebly's now floating around. Feeding time once every 6 odd weeks. (In fact I can see my Chromis eating the stuff when I do it). Too much stirring can cause the opposite, in fact RTN if done too often. (Not sure why), probably continual dirty water flowing over them all the time. I run a sponge filter prior to stirring to remove the big particles prior to skimming the rest.
  7. They need to be stirred on a 4 - 6 weekly basis IMO. Thats what I do.
  8. Ive seen a lot of tanks. Ones with sand have brighter/deeper colours with their SPS stonies. Zeovit makes Acro's colours look weak. IMO!
  9. If its a heliofungia it probably wont survive. Did the same thing to mine and she karked it. Got a pic Brian?

I actually think the the colours look quite weak myself. Just my oppinion!
  11. You dont need that much flow in a softy tank. Imperative for stony corals. Fairly important for anemones though. (Medium flow)

The sun moves...it would have to mirrored.
  13. I like to leave for 4 weeks before throwing it in.....kills bacteria and any possible nasties including parasitic cysts that may be present....but thats just me! At the end of the day, all you want is the salt content.
  14. The more one takes on board, (Fact or Myth). The wiser one shall be....
  15. And the problem is.........
  16. whats that supposed to mean? Are you a scientist now? Tell us how its meant to be Pie...... Whats Funny?
  17. Its a good sign, (Health of the tank)...thats a bout it apart from looking good too. Pale coralline looks horrible compared to rich dark ones.
  18. The variables are too many to desribe in a thread of this size! Nice weather we are having.....
  19. Things can grow ok, but it doesnt mean they are growing at their best. Classic example is ZEOvit users. Coralline is pale in colour due to lack of nutrients.
  20. another thread...part II
  21. Still good info for each individual to take bits they need.
  22. So is mine, but not like drifty's i doubt, you should see it in the flesh.
