  1. Was walking dog in the local where you can let your off the lead on a very muddy slope. Bent to stroke another little dog who came over to say hello. H put his paws on my leg, I slipped on the bank, dropped my knees and somehow my right arm was under me with wrist bent. Knew it was broken so rolled to my left and that arm was also under me. That one cracked two ribs.!!! I think fishkeeping is not as dangerous, although with my luck at presnt I would probably fall in the taqnk and drown.
  2. :an!gry I wish I was there too. Having to do everything left handed is terrible. Would have enjoyed the lunch! Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
  3. RIP John, much love to Gael and all their family. A great man gone. Those who knew him will never forget him. Sue
  4. I like 4 and 7 as a second choice. Although the colors are nice to look at on here I think they might be a little difficult for printing, far too fussy.
  5. Thanks Totally Tanked - a really great Conference and so enjoyable. Now to get all the news and ideas out there to our clubs. Wellington was really foggy when we landed and nothing to see on the way home except cloud and more cloud. I/m going tp type you as much as I can remember before I go to bed tonight. Thanks agin.
  6.  On October 9, 10 and 11 the Home and Garden Expo is on at the Westpac Stadium and amongst the displays and stands one will find Wellington Aquarium and Water Garden Society. When the organisers were looking to entice exhibitors to the Expo they searched for the word Gardens and one of the many entries was WAWGS. The club was contacted, with a very good offer, we could have a three by three meter space at no cost. This was discussed at the club meeting where a few questions were raised but the decision was made that if Sandy, our President, was happy that the concerns raised were not going to be an issue we would be happy to take them up on their offer. We are going to set up a pond, complete with artificial grass, paving stones and goldfish. :bounce: There will also be fish tanks on show......................Definitely Home & Garden At least it will get the fish clubs in the area noticed. So if you are going along, come and see us and say hello.
  7. :bounce: Wairarapa people wanted - are you interested in keeping fish - marine, tropical, cold water - we are going to start up the Wairarapa Fish Club again and the more the merrier. Let us know if you are interested. Sue Fleet : 06 379 6488 Jo Goodin : 06 372 2667

  9. WA&WGS is the oldest fish keepers club in New Zealand, starting life on 24 October 1933. Its members met in each others homes. By 1938 it had become the New Zealand Aquarium & Water Garden Society and the membership stood at 42. As the name implies it now had members throughout the country. In July 1941 the Christchurch members of NZAWGS formed a branch. By 1948 the membership of the club had increased to 617. The setting up of branches of the NZAWGS continued and in 1952 it was proposed to set up the New Zealand Federation and NZAWGS became the Wellington Aquarium & Water Garden Society again. In 1983 it celebrated its 50th Jubilee and now the story moves on. In October 2008 the club will be 75 – why not come along to a club meeting and see what has kept this club going for so long. The club meets every third Wednesday at Union Church Hall Lounge (cnr of Kenya & Crofton Rds. Ngaio) The meetings start at 8.00pm. There is a raffle fund raiser run every month, a light supper and subject discussions, guest speakers and quiz nights as per our yearly programme. Everyone is very welcome. :bounce:
  10. Thanks Kevin. Hi Kiran Wellington has a few clubs to choose from, all meeting different nights so that okay. Our next meeting is 20 September - rather short notice I know - have been able to get onto the FNZAS site but sending anything by email has been near to impossible. But it seems okay now. We start with a quick meeting, break for supper, a donation for this is appreciated. We also run a raffle every meeting, this helps us cover our costs for the hall. $1 for some tickets ( 3 or 4 ). The raffle prizes are donated by club members. Why not come along to one of our meetings. :bounce:

Picked up a whole load of Sera booklets from Tropical Blues Ltd but although we have found what we are looking for in the booklet the web page does not offer any help with what they might stock. We believe it is shipped in from Germany ! :-? Thanks
