  1. I just rang up the two bigger fish shops in Whangarei and there is apparently a shortage of females in NZ. There is one shop that currently has a male crowntail, colour black with electric blue markings for only $17.95.....only problem is I can't get there , They also have a very pretty VT aswell. Looks like we may have to start up a breeding programe of our own to get better fish in NZ

  4. I myself have a Melano (brown/black) Double tail male. I think 6 girls from a Blue VT male and Red longfinned Half moon? Would love to get my hands on some Crown tails.

  9. you can get long finned females.....i had one but sadly she passed on........have her fry though, and finding it really hard to tell the girs from the boys :roll:

  11. Another Quick update. I am preparing the 3ft tank for them now, and the bubs are coming along nicely Afew new pics.....they sure are hard to photograph.

  13. Lordy lordy lordy :roll: Dunno whats up with my angels......Engine & Newone are at it right now, laying eggs all over the filter :roll: I know that they won't make it, as they are in the community tank, and I have no room, to put them anywhere else Will try to get some pics up later on.
  14. Hrmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I don't think I will be able to put in the time and effort needed Things are not so great at home, and to tell you the truth, I don't really know if I will be able to stay up North for much longer
  15. I'm not totally sure.....I think 15 maybe? They scoot around too darn fast to count The parents are doing a terrific job, but I'm about to run out of space real fast, so will need to find a new home for the A+ Parents 8) ,she is already fattening up ready to try to produce again :roll:
  16. Good read thanks Bill Just a quick update... Second clutch of fry made it to wrigler stage, then vanished......maybe it was there older siblings? First batch are growing well, they are starting to form their "angel" shape now, and look less like tadpoles :lol: Finding it extremely hard to get any clear photos of them as they are motoring around the tank now. This pic was taken a week ago now I think.....they now have their top fin thingies .....You know what I mean LOL ......I dunno what they are called, the proper name eludes me LOL
  17. Good to hear.........can't wait to see pics. I'm gonna do a proper count of my lil ones today, I think there is 5 or 6, but hard to tell withh all the plants and them hiding
