I think it is a peppered catfish, the lady I got it off wasn't sure if it was peppered or marbled? Bad photo....moves way to fast 8)

Have done so, and all are happily zoomin around the big tank....even the cat has come out of hiding. Great because he/she is very pretty. I was told in another post that they could adjust to cold water??? I am convinced I have to go tropical now though.....would love some colourful guppies etc. I have caught the bug well and truley HELP HELP!!!

I just had to get one :lol: This was plan this morning......Start adjusting my 2 small goldfish to the outside pond, then go to town and find a nice looking cold water fish to accompany my 4 whitecloud mountain minnows. Both places in Dargaville had nothing....go figure!!!! :roll: Ended up coming home with my 1st ever catfish....he/she is the neatest thing :lol: I was going to put it in a small tank and gradually lower the temp untill it was ready for the cold tank...I didn't have the heart to put him in a tank all by himself, so put the heater in the small tank with the minnows and he is now happliy scooting around. Meanwhile :oops: I set up my bigger tank ready for anything I might catch, while searching in our fresh water streams......no luck there!!! So, I am here with a large tank set up with drift wood etc....looks really good.....but no fish. I am really tempted to put the fish in the big tank.....and give into the urge to go tropical LMAO. I only have 1 heater though....is it ok to warm up the big tank, and leave the other one t(he fish are in) going cold? Probably confused ewveryone by now LOL

I live north of dargaville, was wondering if there was a club anywhere close? I have an itch to learn more!!!

Hi & welcome, I'm new here too, these people have been fantastic!!! But watchout though, I got more & more interested as I am learning LOL. I'll have to change the tanks around more so the other half won't see my new fish arriving LOL. You'll have fun here

I have a pond out side that has 2 goldfish in it already. The 2 I have inside are getting quite big, so I am wanting to put them in the pond outside......is there a good way to help them adjust? Loving all the help here

An outing with my 2 little kiddies sound like just the thing.....been talking about it for awhile now. I have tried to get in touch with the Seahorse Farm....emailed and rang 2, left messages on the answer phone......no replies as yet....been waiting for over a week now :-? I am wanting to add some friends for my 4 little white cloud minnows, as I am moving the 2 goldfish to the outside pond. I have no idea what is available or what to get I would love to set up a tropical tank, but we have too many power cuts where I live (Nth of Dargaville) I would be terrified the fish would die! Any suggestions would be great, not much of a choice in Dargaville , but I do go over to Whangarei once and awhile. Also thinking of using my bigger tank for native NZ fish, does anyone know where to get these? :roll:

Just wanted to say a quick "HI" Just found this forum today and will be reading as much as I can ASAP. I currently have a small cold water aquarium, with 2 small goldfish, 4 white cloud mountain minnows, 3 apples snails, and a few ramshorns. I have an outdoor pond with goldfish and snails aswell. I also have 2 Res turtles inside (soon to be going outside) I really would love to set up an aquarium with native NZ fish, so am looking for as much info on this as possible.
