  8. Well I was gonna do a search to see if this topic had been done before but the search engine is down for the time being so thought i would post anyways.... In my household there are: 2 dogs - Misty and Bear both staffy x's 4 cats - Nuggles, Muffin, Miss Kitty (needs a home as she is a rescue who was pregnant) and Lilly 36 Rats - Permanents = 14 boys and 10 girls, 3 rescues who may or may not be pregnant (just waiting to see) and 9 babies that wil be looking for new homes in 5-6 weeks time.... Plus the fish in my Signature.... What do you have?
  9. I wish this was the case in every govt job....in mine they do not cover cost of living as a seperate consideration to the pay and inflation does not get taken into account with pays either - its all to do with what the market is paying for the same styled position..... I myself am bored with my job = answering phones all day doesnt really keep me entertained any longer - I have tried to go for positions within the same employer and each time I get turned down I feel myself gooing even further into boredom....I have been in the same fulltime job for nearly 6 years (I used to do two part time jobs that allowed me to have some change in environments and that kept things interesting and less "boring") I will be staying with the employer I have at the moment as I am happy with my current pay rate - thats not why I would like a new job, I am not motivated in a huge way by money - as long as I have enough to cover my bills and to feed myself and my pets and have that little bit left over for a treat each week I am happy, and as I am moving sometime within the next 12-18 months (depending on how the savings go for moving north) I will be staying and transferring and then I may start looking for a new job outside of the current employers scope.
  10. Where was the Chch get together today? I had been keeping an eye out for the post.... is there one this week or was it delayed due to hols?
  11. if you are taking photos just tell them it is cos you want to check with a friend who has been looking for one of those fish if this one is too small for him (or something like that) you tell them its for the spca and without them being able to see if personally I dont think alot will be done (no offence meant to the spca but at this time of year they are exceedingly busy with the abandoned holiday animals left at home to fend for themselves while owners go away for a long long holiday themselves)
  12. i have to put my two cents in and say no no no, staffys and staffy x's are the best. they are loyal, smart, active, loving (and on and on and on and on) hehehehe  Good luck finding homes for your puppies, yeah I agree with the others about the different places they suggest. trademe for bigger pets arent auctions they are classifieds so you can really pick out the best ppl that you are happy to let your puppies go home with.
  13. my guys never minded the flow in the big tank - as long as there is place for them to hide, no other flowing tails and he can get to the top then he could be just fine....

  16. i love the finnage on the boy....gorgeous its fun watching the mating of fighters i used to sit for ages when breeding them.
  17. yup and i love living in my bathroom..... i had my ones living in a community tank happily (190L approx). they lived with platy, cory, pleco, gourami, albino barbs who didnt chew his tail, tetras (I think that was all). 12L was the minimum I ever went for and that was usually my starter breeding tank for when the bubs were so tiny you really had to hunt them out....
  18. nope not dwarf - had those ones before...more elongated (i read the weetbix packets  ) still not got pics yet...
  19. okay yesterday i added to my tank three kuhli loaches (sp), two black widows and a gourami (i got these from my neighbour is closing off her tank) and was wondering if the gourami would need a friend..... Dont ask me what type of gourami it is cos all i know is that it is pretty and orange....will try get a pic so you can work it out....
