  7. Please note the below is a direct copy of an email issued by MPI. Biosecurity has amended the Plants for Planting import health standard (formally importation of Nursery Stock), effective 15 September 2025. Plants for Planting – Import Health Standard (15 September 2025) Urgent amendment to Plants for Planting (155.02.06) The Plants for Planting import health standard (IHS) has been urgently amended as Coleonema has been identified as a host of Xylella fastidiosa. Coleonema now falls under the Coleonema schedule in the IHS. This change has been reflected on the Plants Biosecurity Index. Minor amendment to Plants for Planting (155.02.06) The Plants for Planting import health standard has been amended as follow: Vaccinium tissue culture (options 2 & 3) have had the additional measures for Phytophthora ramorum fixed, as these were not translated correctly during the reformat of the IHS in August 2025. The approved countries for Alstroemeria were reworded to make it clear that there is also an option to import tissue cultures from India and South Africa. We have clarified when a permit and PEQ will be required for hosts of Xylella fastidiosa and phytoplasmas. We have clarified this in subclauses 2.4.1, 2.4.3, 2.5.2, and 2.5.3 and all relevant schedules. We have unsuspended all commodity types of Chlorophytum and Dacrydium and have unsuspended whole plants and cuttings of Cymbidium. We have also fixed minor typos, grammar errors and missing links. If you have any questions, please email the Live Plants team at [email protected]. Requirement documents for importing nursery stock
