  1. Bristlenoses are great at eating algae and are easy to keep.
  2. Thank you for that! http://s172.photobucket.com/user/Eugene ... g.html?o=1 Sorry just realised that this link is meant to be the first pic
  3. Could anyone please identify the species for two my crypts just by looking? The first one looks like C. undulata but grows bigger and wider leaves and have more wavy edge than my C. undulata. And I'm guessing second one might be some type of C. wendtii?
  4. very beautiful, is this a gold arowana?
  5. Yes they are all grown in NZ afaik
  6. From what I know, the blue (wild type) body is dominant to the gold body, and normal scale is dominant to electric blue scale. Now your electric blue ram could be heterozygous in the body colour gene, and your gold ram is heterozygous in the scale colour gene. Spawning these two will give you normal blue rams, gold rams, electric blue rams and gold head electric blue rams at a ratio of 1:1:1:1.
  7. Anubias, Java fern, bolbitus and mosses can be grown attached to drift wood or rocks. Some of the easy to find and grow stem plants are Rotala rutundifolia, Hygrophila polysperma, Ludwigia repens, ambulia and star grass. Crypts and swords should do ok in gravel as well, but since these are heavy root feeders they will much prefer a richer substrate.
  8. I really like your guppies JaSa. Making me want to keep them again
  9. Any recommendations for 10ish cm high foreground plants that won't cover up my entire substrate??
  10. I often see them in HFF Mt Roskill. I'm sure they're able to get them in
  11. Thanks guys, I should try bunnings again! :-)
  12. Hi I am after some Dalton aquatic mix to start a dirted tank. I have checked my local bunnings warehouse but all I found was Dalton potting mix. Does anyone know where I can find the aquatic mix? I'm in Auckland ,Thanks !
  13. I have 5 of them, bought from Hollywood fish farm. Very nice looking and peaceful fish. Never saw them spawn.
  14. Wow! Nice tank and fishes! Does your Oscar uproot your plants?
  15. Ahh good point... I guess I should start cycling my fry tank , thanks!
