  1. how successful are your tetras at that temp suphew?? is it the Ph of the rain water or the Kh that makes it good??
  2. sounds like a good idea, mind you its no biggy to drain it at this point think ill do that instead of the mud iceblocks, claire would love frozen mud in the freezer

  7. keep it to run carbon and as a mechanical filter when you feel like it needs some, it has a nice gentle flow as well for additional movement. Only put a filter pad in when you want the filtration dont leave it in
  8. the gold fish is coming out tonight, and im doing a major water change too, no discus will be going in for a month at least. temp im planning on is 27-28C tank mates for the discus at the moment i have in mind a nice school of tetra's, (glowlights and cardinals) and maybe some dwarf cichlids

  10. ok here is what i have so far, the tank is full, with a gold fish in it need to get a heater today, i have sand on the bottom and a rock im getting some form of gravel/substrate today to go on the sand, whats best for a discus tank?? four 4" flouro's and a fluval 304. ideas for the tank and imput would be appreciated
  11. i talked to Phill the discus guy and i found that they are not that expensive if you know where to buy them now to sort out some cardinals

  13. im sure they don't, but they would do a really good job of tearing all my plants that im going to use to make my tank look prutty,
  14. i like cardinals more than tetras but they cost 8$ each at my LFS i think the banner for the nz discus my be a deciding factor, (cheaper discus)

  16. hi im in the proccess of finalizing the stocking of my 4 foot, wait let me pu t that differently i have no idea whats going in yet so heres the problem, i want schools or tetra or something of a similar size. But i also want one or two big fish. i like the big ugly oscars but they will eat everything in the tank. I like discus but they are so darn expensive (as i would want a rarly cool colour) and everyone keeps telling me that they fight and are hard to breed. sevrum are ok but i think they will eat the neons as well?? any ideas?
