brought some new stock today for the tank they are currently hanging out in my 140l tank with the guppies and my beta got 6 panda corys (if anyone has any more of these little guys in the wellington region please let me know i want at least 9 - 14 more :slfg: ) and brought some more neons as the gold severum i brought the other day (it looked so sad at the pet shop i couldnt say no evin tho i knew hed eat my small fish) ate a few of my pre existing neons haha (severum has since been moved into his own tank )

and i have no idea about the box sorry but you can always buy that one off me as im going to be making my own one and doing it a bit different (clear perspex insted of black the black looks ugly imo)

i have read that but figure a sump would be better in terms of filtration - more water flow and compasity/filtration media over a canister filter with less water flow and compasity/filter media and also sumps are cheaper than a canister filter ive had the tank and sump with all plumbing, pump included and a bit of media to start me off with made for $1000 all up compaired to say a fx5 fluval witch would set me back say $609 from hff then theres the cost of having the tank made on top of that so yeah was more of a cost thing in the end but will see how it go's if its not working i can always switch to a canister

haha yeah he was there to talk to them about there phones or something. marketing drone i see what you did there :slfg: was thinking of going semi iwagimi style at one end with the substrate raised up and big rocks so its like cliffs or a mountain with and at the other end putting heaps or drift wood and plants so its like the mountains flowing down into the jungle but unshure if i will end up doing that or just going all out jungle haha cool thanks ill check some out today make use of my day off haha and yeah figured my username was kind of a give away haha

hello there! so figured i might as well start the build thread for my new tank now since ive been asking questions in the beginners part of the forum and the tank should hopefully arrive this weekend or early next week (dependant on cash flow ) so the plan is go high tech planted (metal halides, co2, fert program) that sort of thing ill have questions and such for you as i go along but heres a quick run down of the progress so far earlyer in the week i ordered a new co2 regulator, diffuser/bubble counter and a anti return valve from fish street.com so they are on the way still trying to sort a co2 bottle so if anyone has one lying around unused :lol: let me know today i went out to see pete at port nicholson glass in petone and checked out the progress on the tank and sump photo's below RH Side LH Side Sump closest tank on the table main display behind it sump still needs some more glass put in and then its time to get it home and sort out the stand :D exciting times ahead!!

your tank is amazing dude!! this is the inspiration for my new tank thats currently being built going for the same sort of look with planting and such. just a couple questions where did you get the lights from and what brand are they? also do they come with just 2 mh's or only in the 3 like yours? thanks :nfs:

was going to order from fish street but if you can suggest a better or cheaper site id be keen to check it out yeah that seems like the plan i saw some cool corys on t.m last night while browsing but will have to do a bit of research and find some i really like

yeah have decided im going to stick to 2 or mabie 3 schools of different fish then have some corys, blue rams and some khulies today i went all over the place looking for ither a co2 cylinder or co2 extinguisher no luck then went up to a mates place who is also a fish keeper. turns out he has a co2 fire extinguisher sitting in his van 2.5 or 3.5kg unused he was holding onto it incase he decided to go for a planted tank but has said i can have it for cheap/free so bonus :happy2: just about to order the regulator, diffuser/bubble counter and anti return valve :happy1: i love ordering things online from over seas the anticipation makes me excited :slfg:

just had a look definately not puffer and dont think they were bumble bee gobys but posibly? these two tiny fish were orange and white striped looked so cool but super small and im fine with rarely seeing the khulis haha definatly keen on some as long as they arent going to terrorize my plants :slfg:

oh just seen some other fish to add to short list cochus blue tetras & pearl danios also looked at the cory doras def have to get a few hehe i remember seeing them in the pet store all hangn out in a big group it looked quite cool
