That sounds like fairly normal cichlid behaviour to me. Has it taken control of the area it was digging from or dropping the stones? I have found my cichlids will often rescape my tank after I have rearanged it to make pits and caves big enough for them to tuck them selves into

Those were the pot's that I was talking about, sorry should of mentioned that. The plats are going to be background plants behind the scape so going over the scape may not matter to much. I have a few weights so I will try them as well

That was my expereince up until recently. I have had Java fern in my mixed tank with mainly Mbuna but I have not found any broken off since around the second month. I put a crypt in the tang tank and after the 2nd day it hasnt been touched, it was hardly touched in that time either. I do understand that all of a sudden one fish may decide it does not like green in its tank and all hell will break loose. But so far so good so I am planning on planting a bit heavier afterthe rescape

I can't get rid of the African's or that will defet the purpose of having an African tank.

If I plant some plants in a pot, and put the pot under the substrate, will the plant send out runners like normal and spread through the substrate like it normaly would or will it be confined into the pot?

Don't expect to much this round, esepcialy with your predator guppies patroling the nest :rotf: :thup: for scoring the pair

Be careful with material if it get wet and does not dry you may end up with mould

So stop buying tanks with painted background/ use the tank with a painted background. :facepalm: You can get a blue/black reversable background paper in most pet/fish shops. I found that if I put a tank with it on by a window that it was rather light, so I stuck a bit of poly to it and it made it work much better.

I couldn't tell you if it is eating I am sorry. I put a bunch of food in morning and night and there is never left overs, but I am unsure if it is that loach or the other fish as it is a community tank. I went to the vet on my walk home tonight and asked for prazi, but they had never heard of it. Is it known as anything other than that?

I got a group of 6 dwarf chain loaches over the weekend, and I suspect that one or possibly two have skinny. What is the medication that I should be looking for to treat it? Now that is it in a tank with other fish :facepalm: do I treat the tank to be safe or just the possibly two fish? I now regret very much not isolating the new fish before hand, lesson noted and hopfuly learnt from. Thanks all

I dunno about that cuz. I think a "mean deal" at any Nelson store will still be more than most others about the country. Stupid sunshine tax creeping into the price of retail in the region.

Casual work at Petfever in Nelson. Doing mainly maintanence of the tanks and some customer work.I believe its the same jobbie that Diabolus had before he skipped town and went to Germany. I am just hopeing I can make the hours work around my study,kidlet and placement.
