  1. What I am refering to is that there is 3 languages classed as offical in NZ, but why for example when the national anthem is sung is it only done in two? Its a form of discrimination. Much the same as motercyclists paying extra on there rego, just another form of discrimination that doesnt affect the dominant discourse so its purely just sweeped under matt and not looked at as in issue
  2. If we were all "New Zealanders/kiwis" would we not ridicul Maori, pacific islanders and asians with New Zealand decent? Would we accept the fact that Maori, English and sign language are the three national languges in this country, would we not only have Maori tv, but also white person tv, bermese tv and fiji tv? sorry very :smot: on the current topic, but I get really annoyed with the whole one nation one country rubbish and that comment brought it up for me
  3. Relativly often, its called over taking. I dont say that moter bikes riders are notwith out there faults, but why should they pay extra on rego, when they damage the road less and in most case's if they are in an accident it will be involving a car? should there be a fee for chch pedistrians, being that there is more of them killed in the country than anywere else? Agreed, Auckland and the rest of the country. ohh wait that already happens with basicly everything already
  4. I am not stateing per moterbike I am saying as a total number. thats the same as saying we do well at the olympics per number of population, yes we are great per head but we still suck in the grand scheem of things.
  5. Thats real pertty !drool: !drool:
  6. No figures just logic. there is more cars on the road then bikes, so logic says there will be more car accidents then moterbike accidents. I am nottaking into account serverity of accident, just chances of it happening
  7. "Petrol tax rose by 2c a litre or 4 per cent this month, but Transport Minister Gerry Brownlee yesterday warned of further increases as he unveiled the National Land Transport Programme for 2012-15, which sets out most of the Government's transport spending over the next three years" It prioritised ongoing work on the Government's roads of national significance and $3.4 billion of investment in Auckland (Geoff Dangerfield NZ transport agency cheif exec)( cited from NZ heareld) 50.524 cents - National Land Transport Fund Per Litre of fuel (AA motering) totaling 12 billion a year (NZTA) Of that 12 billion each year 3.4 put into Auckland. However a further Proposed National fuel tax incl RUC – of 16 cents per litre to pay for Auckland roads (Auckland transport) State Highway 20, also known as either the Southwestern Motorway, or the Mangere Motorway (wiki) was what I was refering to as the "super highway" It is often refered to as the super highway in common circles More interesting reading http://www.transport.govt.nz/ourwork/La ... %20tax.pdf :smot:
  8. Did the gummerment not impose a extra tax on petrol around a 18 months ago to pay for the "super highway"?
  9. Funny that I looked at the same thing and started to do some research on it for my next project.Thats why I stuck river rocks to my small practise tank the other week as a bit of a trial and error process I emailed Frank Muller a couple times and got some very quick and informative responses from him, that could be a good avenue to go down for info as well.
  10. it is pretty close to the only one with out one on it. its just my back up stone and pipe incase I need one before I get to a shop. there is an upside to everything however, i dont need to chnge the water this week
  11. I didnt pay enough attention when I unplugged a air stone earlyer today, forgot to take the stone out. turns out water enjoys syphining out a air stone more then it likes staying in a tank.
  12. Dam it! there was about 100 Litres of warm water sitting on my floor and about 50 african fry sitting dry at the botom of a fry tank when I walked into my fish room before :an!gry :an!gry :an!gry
  13. Of course you dont understand you live in Auckland. I am going to leave it at that as we have gone well and truly off the beaten track. I would be more then happy to continue this in another thread if you want to start one about it :slfg:
  14. I am saying that it is unfair that motercycle riders have to pay a ridiculus amount in rego when there is more often a car in a accident, more car accidents then moterbike accidents, more fatalitys in cars then moterbikes. why should they be picked on. more often then not they are only riden in the weekend as well. ( yes I know there is exceptions to the rule) And I am also saying its ridiculus that people outside of auckland have to pay for auckland roads. Both of these are sides on there own, I am not jumping fence on either argument as they are both diffrent discussions raised in the same point
  15. But it is also much more likely to be a car accident then a moterbike accident, so why not charge more for car rego for that reason? Another example is people outside of Auckland having to pay extra for our fuel so Aucklanders can have more highways, how does that at all make any diffrence to my life? again well and truely off topic :smot: :smot:
  16. I am sure the same applies to people with moter bikes, why should they have to pay more then a car rego, they have less wheels and more often then no a car is involved in an accident. Diesel km's on cars are the same, they weigh the same as most petrol cars yet have to pay the same as a 3 or 4 tonne vechile which will do more damage to the road. Same deal as car rego prices continusly going up for what reason? :smot: :smot: :smot: :smot:
