has anyone had success with breeding oscars? a mate of mine currently has 4 red tiger oscars and 3 albino oscars in a tank together hoping that a couple of them would pair up, anyone got some tips from experience or know of someone who has? :thup:

oh yea, i like your point! i breed jags because i used to have a community tank with all sorts of different fish in it, it got boring so my goal was to breed, when the first spawning had come i was pretty stoked with myself (even though i really didnt do any of the work just raise temp, feed more) :thup: originally before i started breeding my jags my goal actually was to breed siamese fighters but at that time i couldnt get my hand on any females i only had my flourescent red male so i gave up

At the moment im keeping/breeding jaguar cichlids and I think they are awesome, but ive seen so many other cool fish id like to keep, I dont really want anything to common, malawi could be cool I reckon, basically im just asking what other people are keeping and what makes them a little bit better then any other fish in your own opinion :spop:

just thought id add that ive put th silica sand in with no worries and I reckon it does look pretty cool, and its stoping me from over feeding the fish :slfg:

yea ive had my eheim for 7 months now never cleaned it I have drain it a few time and boy was the water coming out orange but then ive just set it back up and th water stays as clean as. Ive been told by a few people once a year if it gets real dirty you wanna keep all that good bacteria

At the end of the day fish keeping is cheaper then wife keeping :slfg:

My jags just sit there and watch them fall to the bottom. Fussy much :dunno:

I got a coloney of white worms going. Easy as, cost 20 odd bucks to buy a small punnet of them and now I have a few ice cream containers full now. Only thing was trying to get my fish to eat them wen I drop them in :facepalm:

Now for a grueling part! Waiting for them to grow up :cofn:

Ur method sounds almost bulletproof lyndy! And I looked up those plants u use and they do look good be ideal for my fry to swim inbtween. My jags have started to get used to me puting my hands in the tank so I think this weekend will be a good time to start the remodeling

Could you recomend any plants to me? I havent had much chance to experiment with plants as my old oscar used to make it almost impossible
