Cheers guys going to probably pull out all the ambulia this week and grow it in another tank, it is just taking over this tank and I am sick of trimming it every few days.

If I were you I would do yet another large water change 60%+ and double check ammonia and add extra aeration into the tank.

This might be a silly question but you haven't happened to use any air fresheners around the tank have you?

Cheers Jim. Just finished setting up the pressurized co2 system, ended up using a jigsaw to cut a hole in the floor of the stand so it fits nicely in there. Really need to set up a better diffusion method as both the glass ones I have produce pretty large bubbles which just get wasted by breaching the surface. Discus have settled in great, all seem happy and healthy. The pair are trying to spawn on my filter pipe as I write this so will be moving them into their own tank probably this week. Here is some more pics; I thought I had enough plants but cannot seem to help myself from buying and adding more :facepalm: I have a big bunch of windelov, some H. polysperma, a few more dwarf sag and later this week a huge amount of needle leaf java fern.

I use sand so not really too keen on vacuuming loads of it out, I just make sure there is enough water flow to make sure all the "crap" is moved around enough to be picked up from my filters.

Hard to say Dan without your water parameters, especially being blue rams. How long have you had them for? I have only ever seemed to be able to keep them alive for 2-3 months max.

Hey guys I have recently purchased a few discus and with them is a large pair, they have laid eggs before for the previous owner and have only been in my tank for 3 days and are already showing signs of wanting to spawn again. They are guarding the filter inlet pipe and cleaning it constantly. What size tank should I put them in to breed and raise the fry (hopefully)? They are around 10-12cm each so quite large. What should I feed them before and during spawning? How often should I be doing water changes once they are spawning? What is the best temp to keep them at, still around 29c? There is probably more stuff I will ask about but that should do for now. Cheers.
