Can you get any pic's? A pH of about 7 They get to about 6cm They prefer cooler water, say 18-24*C Cheers, CatBrat.

    fish tank stand

I sent Tough tanks an email and they sent one back in a couple of days thanking me for my questions. I wonder why they didn't reply to yours? Cheers, CatBrat.
  11. Hi Kim, I don't think that it was that thin, the last time I saw it on the front glass it had a nice rounded belly (3-4 days before it died). What ever it had seems to of eaten the gut area away (it had gone through the skinand had a large hole in its stomach), it looked horrible. I have been feeding them flake food (which they deffinatly ate), bloodworms, brine shrimp, peas and zucchini. The only other fish in the tank was a smaller male Black Eyed Yellow Bristlenose. The two of them just left each other alone. I'm did not feed them meat (am I supposed to?). The only decorations in the tank was the wood and it had already been in there before the Black Eyes (the tank had regular Bristlenoses in there first). I think theat the pH was about 6.5. I hope this helps. Cheers, CatBrat.

  13. I got home from school last night to find that one of my new Black Eyed Yellow Bristle-noses was dead . Two of them (both males) have been in a tank by themselves for about two weeks. It was the biggest of them that has died. Heres a couple of pic's - What do you think caused this? Cheers, CatBrat.

  21. Thanks for the help guys. I think that it might be a young male who's bristles are just comming through. I will wait and see. Kim, what size is your famale (do you only have one)? Good luck, I hope they spawn for you Cheers, CatBrat.
  22. Hi, Their L number is L144. I don't mean to hijack your post, but can you help. I bought these yesterday I know ones is a male, but I'm not sure about the other. The male is about 6cm, the other is only about 5cm, but it seems to have a lot of bristlesfor its size (so does the male though). Do you think that it is a male or a female? Cheers, CatBrat.
  23. Hi Aaron, I hope I can help with these questions. #1: A sump is a type of filter. #2: You can find a lot of info on cycling tanks if you do a search on google or genral fish keeping sites. #3: 4-8 weeks #4: I don't get what you mean by ratio when changing water, but you should change around 20-25% of the tanks water every 1-2 weeks. #5: Do not introduce your fish too quickly mayby every 2 weeks or so the bio load does not increace too quickly. #6: THe genral rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish per one gallon of water, but this is not a very good rule. It is mainly aimmed at small fish such as tetras. For example 6x 1 inch tetras have a much smaller mass than 1x 6 inch pleco. #7: It is not necessary to pump air into your tank, people do this to get more dissolve oxygen into the water. I hope that this helps. Cheers, CatBrat.
