The bits of glass that were in there was because of the guy who was in possession of it was smashing the bracing. Unfortunately he also chiped a lot of the glass, but I think I managed to hide most of it. The base had a big crack through it which had been patched but was leaking, which meant I could only save a little of the base. Not sure how it broke in the first place though. Thanks for those pics Bilbo, I am not sure what was in that tank but I spilt some of it on me and everybody took a wide berth around me for the rest of that day :facepalm:

ha, funny you should post. If I do end up keeping it I was thinking about making a paludarium. Even have the rain system worked out. Be a lot of $$ though, but in a nutshell I would need a bit of your experience planting the thing as I would rather plant everything at once.

Not sure if anybody remembers but a while back a mate of Bilbo was giving away a 2000L ( ish ) tank. ( I think it was an old one from wet pets? ) Anyway, earlier I had been telling a friend that sometimes I like to pretend I am some form of supreme deity when trying to balance the eco systems in my tanks. We discussed this for some time and my friend had decided that he too would like to have this feeling of power and greatness but it wasn't the right time for him to buy a big tank. About a month later I saw the post on here for the free tank and thought about how it would look in my lounge. :sml1: Out of interest I rang my friend and told him we should at least go round and have a look. We decided that we should break the tank down and then see what possible outcomes, if any. A few hours of breaking down the tank and almost having a 50cm shard go through my neck :facepalm: we took the glass and the base away in a big truck and dumped it in my garage. These are the results... Both roughly 400L Tank 1 Tank 2 Cost me 1 roll of tape, 2 tubes of silicone and a box of screws. Pretty chuffed :smln:. So thanks go out to Bilbo for hooking me up with the great deal. My 3rd and 4th tank build and still learnt a lot. The smaller one is going to my friend but not sure about the bigger one may put it up for sale. :dunno: Also have some images from during the build but not sure how many images I can post here?

I think they are entitled to have their say... I doubt it will go much further though, most of them seem unable to see the point past their own noses. ( in this case the positives of immigration into NZ ). Bear in mind though that some of them have valid points that have nothing to do with race and it is a shame,unfair,unfortunate ect that you feel singled out. Just ignore it, it will go away for a while.

Explain to me what they are doing as you seem to be saying that you do know. You do realize why suppression of certain images and information happens in the media? Well, they don't show us what we want to see, otherwise we wouldn't be having this discussion. They ( the government ) do however limit what they release to the media. I am not a sheep in that respect. What I see on the media I do not take as fact, you can research the current event as much you feel necessary, and discuss it on public forums and with others willing to evolve the conversation to a resolution. Making me not a sheep. This is not China, nobody is censoring my internet. 2 or 3 occasions where they do does not mean they do as a whole. Wikileaks is censored because it has put people jobs ect in jeopardy and has been taken as slanderous, therefore it must not be shown on public domain until the trial has finished. This is law. This was true before the internet, it is illegal for the government to censor or limit the freedom of press unless a law has been broken or, there are a few reasons that the government can step in. Firstly just because propaganda exists doesn't mean that all media is propaganda. You seem to only talk in extremes and I think it unfair to assume that the public as a whole are under the brainwashed command of the United States Government. Except that to be proven guilty in western society he must stand trial and be proven to be guilty. We do not know the circumstances around the releases of these videos and as I said before there are so many unanswered questions surrounding these events. I say blind faith in an earlier post because without evidence of some sort we can only gauge these events by what the media portrays to us, which we know to not always be true. Being glad that he is dead is one thing, even if it's based on faith but celebrating it is another thing. I think very few people would not be glad of his death in some way or on some level. This debate was only really about the right or wrong of celebrating like maniacs? I have seen all the Zietgiest movies, they are very well made pieces of propaganda. In fact most of it is non factual in any sense of the word. The only thing from memory that had any credentials was the distribution of money and the fact that the world is run on debt. But this is not new information and nor is it contested. The world has been run like this since before the U.S. civil war the Americans have only perfected it and most of the United Nations is run the same way ( yes even us ). Just because they are better at using tools that they have than other nations does not make them badies, just immoral. Anyway I think to date this rivals the JFK theorys and not much else. You can not prove that he is responsible. Where are these plans, where is the proof of these plans. He had plans or they had plans? It is a tedious argument, if you think that jumping for joy and chanting the name of your nation makes them any different from each other then you are sadly mistaken. They are both by products of the evolution of propaganda. I have studied propaganda for a few years, it is a heartless killer in itself with very little ways of stopping it. It is not so much the fact that they are happy he is dead but in which the way they celebrated and the circumstances around it. Nothing to do with spirituality but more dignity and looking for factual evidence rather than blind faith.

I think maybe it is difference in building style?, I build my tanks first and then silicone, so that means that I can see exactly how much to use and rarely have excess waste.

Yeah true, I guess it depends on build style. I just built 2 400L tanks on 2 tubes and have 1/4 left. Although in saying that, look out for a possible up coming thread that says 800L of water on my floor :slfg:
