Hi, Recently i converted from freshwater to saltwater. I was wondering has anyone use API freshwater test kit for their saltwater? Is basically brand new kit and i compare both chemical composition between fresh and saltwater and they are the same. Wondering whether it is save to use it? Thx and any opinion is welcome:)

When you cycle the tank for the first time is it alright to use tap water with salt mix? and 20% water change weekly and Top up with RO/DI water after that? By doing this can save some money:) any comment? thx

Try a male betta:) mine one is perfect heaven for my CT betta atm! Yes i agreed do not go for guppies! my goodness same thing happen to me, next day you woke up million of baby will spawns!

Has anyone succesfully rid their tank of Ramshorn snails?

I manage to control mine by using a piece of cucumber every night for a month. At each morning remove the piece of cucumber and along with those snails.. they tend to accumulate by eating the cucumber.. Removing it everyday and the population will come down.. At the moment my tank is under control. The other option is dump in puffer fish, as what my friends do. This little bugger suck them like juice! and in short time no more snail! only shell! -
anyone think the gravel 6mm is good for planted tank? thinking to lay it on the top layer.

I remember my flatmates sometime ago is having a problem and in the end it has something to do with the powerhead propeller being dirty.. you can try to take it out from the magnet assembly and give it a good clean and start it again. good luck

Not too sure.. i can't locate anyone with dwarf hairgrass.. maybe is not available in NZ?
