  1. I think he is DNA testing them, would explain why only some are sexed
  2. only some of the auctions are sexed so ????? hes not able to sex all of them
  3. DNA testing ???? im pretty shore it 100%. i know you can do it with birds. for birds you just take a feather and send it away, think its about $20 a pop so would be worth it if your selling them for $300-400 unless you have to send a toe or something  .
  4. i think they are from that frog but i just question now they got the frog in the first place, but i guess that doesn't matter lol. if i do bid for them i will go up and pick them up and have a better look at the female, see if she is albino.
  5. not cool at all lol but it is. would mean that you dont need a computer (i think lol)
  6. good point  but my albinos did like being in the nature light because they were making a racket when they were inside by the window, keeping everyone awake, but they stop croaking as soon as i moved the whole set up into the garage. even though the same setup up and still with there exo terra light hood (the one with the 2 spots and 2 uv tubes
  7. Or something like this http://www.tiptemp.com/products/34593/tg500-thermoguardian-text-message-alert-system
  8. There is only 100mm slope over the 2.4 roof. i got some nice clean second hand iron off my granddad. i wonder if you can get a wireless thermostat because we have wireless inside and might be able to use the main computer. for the electrical wire we have a secondary fuse box in the tool shed close by, so I thought i would increase a outlet on that to like a 100A and run a cable to the room with a another secondary fuse box (like a 4 way) and have the: -room lights, extractor fan on one circuit -A set on plugs that will be normally powered on a second circuit -A set of plugs that will be on a timer (for day lights) on a 3rd circuit -and a spare ALL DONE BY SOMEONE THAT KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING OF COURSE
  9. Well food is not a problem lol more locusts than i know what to do with. i think my problem was not enough light even with uv tube and normal bulb it was still darker than outside.
  10. they are not splits but i was struggling to get them to spawn inside i had uv lighting and a rain system. the males were crocking and riding the females for days at a time but no eggs so at the end of the season i put them all outside into a diy planted enclosure. would be keen to give the splits ago. didnt you get a albino male off TM?? thought i remenber seeing photo of its pads.
  11. TM ones look a lot paler that mine but is not a very good photo and the eyes do look normal. but MAF turned the other one back to normal (witch i don't believe). and that makes me think that it would be had to find two at the same time on the side of the road.
  12. my only change of a female is the runt, but dont think i will ever bother to breed that, the genetics dont look to flash anyway without throwing that into the mix. ive still got the 4 splits i got from you too. might put the albinos over the normal females ive got outside.
  13. out of my 4 i raised from morphs. -one had a bent jaw and died 6 months in (dont know why) -2 are health males -and a runt that looks like it has got a bit of a hunch back it only 4cm after 2 years but all of them seem to lack the interest in food and i fine it hard to feed them. the only up side is that man the two can crock had to move them out of the lounge because no body could sleep lol. bent jaw
  14. would be great for a large outside enclosure you would get shelter as well as useful light. but would not be to good at insulating though. but still very interesting. good to hear that the tuataras are liking it
  15. maybe in the lounge next to the fire   in saying that we had a deer hanging for a few days and there were a few flies around but we had a cover on it of course
  16. a good idea but how much do you think it would cost lol i would still need to run all the same in tank lighting e.g. basking lamp and uv, as uv does not travel through glass or plastic. because the roof pitch is quite flat it might be hard to weather tight the sky light, looks like i know what im doing lol thanks but this is my first time building anything structual lol, all ive doe is 1 day a week work experance for a builder for 1.5 years and i am half way through my pre trades building course a wintec
  17. Yer have already bought the ply i got it cheap ($30 for a h3.2 2.7x1.2). yer will paint the ply. decided not to add any windows. will run the extractor fan on a thermostat to stop over heating and a timer so i will get a bit of a air change daily as i find the locusts need a change of air to prevent fungi infections. was going to have a little portable fan inside just to even out the heat.
  18. sheet bracing, the external cladding is going to be ply sheets. Not a bad idea about a sky light will have a think about it. ive bought a wall extractor fan to help with the ventilation but i'm not shore what way i want to put it, do i want to blow the old air out or suck new air in??? wont be able to do much for the next few days as im having eye surgery Thanks for the input guys
  19. Hang a possum from a tree with a bucket if saw dust under it.
  20. Over the weekend i got all the roof framing, the netting and some of the building paper.
  21. yer i went into one and the uv light was off when i asked why they said it was because the tank was getting to hot, but the heaters where on a thermostat   .
  22. i have read that in a few different places as well. lucky for me i'm in the mighty waikato lol and there is always fresh grass somewhere. i use the grass in a jar of water as well. there should not be a time where there is no fresh grass in the tank. lunch time all day long is the best way to go.
  23. it shouldn't matter what season it is, i get the same yield all year round. as far as mine know it lunch time in the middle of summer 24/7
