  2. thanks So i shouldn't bother bathing her, shes got a good size water bowl that she get in sometimes.
  3. My 3 year old female bearded dragon is shedding for the first time since i have had her. she didn't eat for the first week, witch i was not worried about. still not that worried because shes happy as, eating etc. but it been 3 weeks since she started to shed and only her legs, tail and around the mouth have shed all her toes have shed so not cutting off any blood flow. 3 weeks + is longer than expected. should i be bathing her, didn't want to her to become reliant on the bath for her to shed.
  4. yer lizard on a lead not my thing ether
  5. cheers for that man. yer the basking factor was what was making me lean towards the dual top. i think the halogen bulbs will give off enough heat, as we have them in our kitchens extractor fan and they give off a bit of heat. too get some sort of heat gradient i was thinking of just putting in one of the halogen bulbs.
  6. good to see thats someone have success with the albinos. you getting a good number of them now
  7. cheers that was what i was thinking too. it just that the dual top is alot more $$$$
  8. has anybody used one of these. am looking to move my green and golden bells out into a gauge with pretty much no light. so im wondering if one of these with be fine. they will be in a exo terra 60x45x60 so i would be getting the size to fit (60). what option would be best http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products/compact_top.php or http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products/dual_top.php
  9. if only you could send that in for the photo of the month, that mean man
  10. some species might not eat living flesh but sheep get fly strike and theres is nothing wrong with there flesh before the flies come along. it only takes a bit of moisture or poo and some bad luck.
  11. yep thats how i dusted mine too. don't think maggots in the gust would cause any problems as it would be the same as feeding live maggots
  12. same i built mine out of MDF. 90x45x60 is to small for an adult as said above.
  13. sorry to hear. hope you catch the losers and get you geckos back. will let you know if i see anything for sale down your way
  14. yer try them i live in the waikato but got to Rotorua most weekends and buy all my stuff from them they are great people to deal with. they are also cheaper than other places.
  15. haha you might have a new trend there
  16. yer i noticed that when i first got my baby albinos you could almost make out what they had been eating.is it a split to albino?
  17. yer strange is it one you have breed or just found???
  18. That weird looks like you have dipped it in something haha
  19. yer at first i put the whole trap in the enclosure but after a few day the trap is covered in flay poo and stinks of rotting meat so i didn't want the frogs jumping all over it, can't be healthy. and with chilled flies you can put the right amount in with out heeps dieing in the water. but i have not used it this spring, just been using locusts.
  20. yer i tried that it worked for a few frogs but some wouldn't go into the bowl, i guess if i tried for longer they would get used to it but i started breeding locusts so didn't bother. still i am quite new to frog keeping so am still learning. the fly traps are good if you can place it a way from the house. i found that easiest way to get the flies out of the trap is to put the whole thing inside of a plastic bag (excluding the rotting meal) and then into the freezer for a few minutes and all the flies will go to sleep. then you just need to tip them into a jar and place in the enclosure. within a few minutes the enclosure will be buzzing with a lot of very annoyed flies
  21. Look like little bumps on it back so i would have to agree with ID
  22. i find mealworms are very time consuming to feed to frog as you have to hand feed them and there is alway a few frogs that will not accept food frog a large tooth pic. i would recommend a fly trap, you will catch heaps more than you will ever need.
  23. it depends no what insect you want mealworms are cheep as to set up all you need is a few plastic bins. locusts and crix need some sort of heating so they are abit more expensive.
  24. just finished making a large fake rock back ground for my bearded dragon. first i tried that quick drying concrete (premixed stuff) but it didnt stick to the poly, so brushed all that off and used straight cement with a bit of sand and it stock heaps better.
  25. yer they dont take long to pack it on, she huge at the moment because she didnt spawn last season
