    i got one of these and because the leads are so long i am able to use it for two small tanks. there is also a 30w modal made as well. i find it very useful as you can fit different length tubes in. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 014023.htm

    im NOT taking side as i don't no enough. i just interested, you say you look for rare but not illegal yet you seemed very keen to buy these frogs which you are now saying are illegal ???????????

    yer i read it just before it was removed. very interesting to hear the other side of the story.

    i feed them to my frogs when i am short of food and they don't seem to mind them, but these are large frogs, i would not try them with a to smaller reptile. Not saying they don't bite because i believe they do, definity would not leave them in the enclose over night. i only use them as a last resort. they also have a hard shell that may be hard to digest.

    yer the annoying thing is that you cant tell the splits for normals, but i guess if you've got albino babies the splits are not so important.

    from what i learnt in bio i believe that a Split X split will produce 25% albino, 50% albino split and 25% common green so good luck. my albinos are coming up two so should hopefully do something later this summer, if they are not unfertile.

    ok will try builders sand and take the containers out ever 3 day instead of 7 so it not such a big lost if it does not work again lol

    bad news today alot of my egg containers were full of mold right the way through and the eggs all black so that sucks... was using a peat moss sand mix so now trying sand and dirt. also i may have had it to wet, maybe they drowned???

    yer males are very busy they only stop to eat, witch is not very often lol

    yer i think they will hatch my main worry is that i dont have enough males is 3 enough for about 50 females

    yer i have put grad rap with a rubber band on top to keep the moister in. first i incubated them just in the locust tank then i made my self a homemade incubator with a thermostat would add pis but cant work out how to??? lol

    my locusts have been laying like crazy and some have hatched be not as many as hoped. do locusts lay there eggs even if they are unfertile?? because i counted the males the other day and I've only got 3 or 4 males out of the 50 in total. eggs have been incubated at 29-35 degrees.

    well i just adjusted the hight of my lights so now the temps are better 28 at bottom and 34 3/4 of the way up. man these things can eat and ive only got 50 lol. just getting wings now so hope to have offspring in time for spring when my frogs come out of brumation.

    ??? so the locusts are fine with light 24/7 they dont go crazy???

    ok might try a heat emitter any idea on what wattage i would need for a 750hx550wx600d wooden enclose. enclose is in a cold shed.

    so 24/7 light is not good. should i use a ceramic heat emitter or heat mats (dont thing the heat mats will heat the enclose up enough).

    just set up a locust enclose, its made of wood with glass front, 750x600x550 (hxwxd) with 2 100w spot lamps. ive read that the temps should be 30-35. mine is about 28 at the top and at midday can get up to 45 on the floor directly under the lights. is this to hot?????

    Yer i have bought some splits as a long term back up, but they will not be able to breed for 2 years. i have got 1 male (visible black thumb pads) and the other looks to be a female. 3rd 1 still to small to tell.

    yep 3 just 2 years old now so hoping they are fertile.

    Yer I just put my albinos out into the green house so they go into proper brumation. Just setting up my breeding tank all planted and with a rain system. but it is in a shed, so i think i might put in a uv light as it is a bit dark in there.
