  1. +1 Same question. Because even in marine tanks, we dissolve salt in another container and let it melt in the water during about 24 h. I'm very intrigued too
  2. Hi, Here are my dario dario. It's a percoid and not really an anabantoid. It's very little fish (about 2cm). They only eat live food. I give them mosquito larvas, daphnias, copepodes and so on. They are 3 in a 40 L tank, with a lot of plants (anubias, moss, hydrocotyle, lilaeopsis, eleocharis...) and a lot of hiding places and a lot of oak leaves. Sandy soil. No filter, just a water pump with a very slow flow. Natural light but 11 w lighting added during winter. Same thing for heater (they can tolerate 15°C to 28°C, rather prefer 24-26C) View from the left side of the tank
  3. Absolutly ! So, i'm gonna go to sleep. Late on this side of the earth see ya
  4. Thanks for your answer Phoenix So, when do you put some live rocks and seahorses in your planted tank ? Well... I've been told about the osmoregulation part salt could have, but not on a long term period and only when fishes are stressed. And you got corys too. Wow... Real amazing... Cause on your picture, it seems there's a lot of salt. Have you ever measure the gravity ? I would be worry about the risk of an overdose with more or less long-term because salt doesn't evaporate. But as i said before, your tank is beautiful
  5. Amazing... I use salt just for somes fish diseases and out of the tank. You used to add salt in your freshwater tank ? What's the amount ? You're talking about NaCl ? Not the Seachem salt for live bearer, isn't it ? Sorry for all thoses questions but it's just --> and
  6. I like this sense of humor. I just read it much too "seriously" and then, asking to myself : "Wow... Either I dunno how to convert money... or I'm probably very rich". But was just lost in translation
  7. You know... I understand why NZ is so harsh with biosecurity because thoses plants are really prolifics and if you don't have temperatures below zero during winter, they will colonize all environments and natives couldn't fight against. It's true NZ is right in the middle of nowhere but when I discovered your country, it was an absolute breath taking moment. You got landscapes that are just awesomes and you Kiwis, are just the coolest people I've ever seen. I wish... I could be a kiwi (I hope i didn't write something wrong or silly. I'm not pretty sure of my english) ps : about neighbours and importations in Europe, they almost all come from China
  8. Another clue ? My next is one of the world's leading music companies and... a firstname.
  9. You're welcome Stevie wonder is one of my favourite songwriter. THE BRAND NEW HEAVIES - Never Stop ps : what song of Steve Miller were you listening ?
  10. 1 - No 2 - It's a company you can find almost in the whole wide world. It's about music. 3 - Not typically but NZ protects them.
  11. ok lol !!! Thanks for the explanation. I guess I still need some smileys for joking in english So about the free board and lodging... I'm afraid I can't accept this so kind invitation Alan
  12. I don't know what means the "k" in $200k but here, the price is about 3.5 € = NZ$ 6.1 Is Pistia Stratiote expensive and / or allowed in NZ ? It's a very good natural filter.
  13. This one is a 310 L container. Diameter : 80 cm Depth : 95 cm Sand bed + peat : 10-15 cm + Oak branches and leaves. Fishes feel secure inside the ramifications. Next to it, a 80 L Diameter : 50 cm Depth : 55 cm Sand bed + peat : 10 cm View from above
  14. Those ones are just inexpensive 80 liters garbage cans... We can put in it 3 or 8 little fishes max. I put 6 Iriatherina werneri, 8 devario sondhii, 5 pseudomugil furcata. Rotala rotundifolia growing out the water. Some of the plant species on thoses pictures are not allowed in NZ because of biosecurity (i'm not living in nz). But there are a lot of another ones you can use. As you can see, the whole surface is covered. They help to purify the water, absorbing ammonium, nitrate... and being a kind of ecosystem where insects and micro fauna thrive.
  15. May I try one ?... My first never comes in first, My next is a name that comes in first, Use the phone to guess the end, My whole are protected in your land. [edit] add a clue : My next is a major company too.
