  4. Hi every one, It a bit weird to think about time... You're may be still sleeping in NZ while it's the middle of the afternoon down here. It's still thursday may 13 here but it's already friday, 14 in NZ. Same planet but not same time for all. So what is time ?... Does it really exist or is it just a mark for us ?

  9. Yes i am I've been running my nano since june 2009 without any problem (no skimmer, no filter). For your 40 liters tank, you'll have to change 3 or 4 liters weekly. Another important point (according to me) : with just a water pump, you got an absolutly silent tank... Yes because there's no only one way but a lot of methods for running a marine tank (berlin, Jaubert, dsb, "natural"...). But as Livingart said : "water changes are your best tool and a low bio load". If you can afford a skimmer, and if it reassures you, go for it
  10. Thanx Livingart ! You know what ? I've already seen pics of this tank but on another website and I didn't know where did they come from Fabulous tank ! A proof that cold marine tank could be as interesting as tropical one. But as he said in his post, it's over skimmed. I understood oO SKIPPY Oo wants to use the filter for water circulation too. According to me, it's not the best way... And, in order to save money, it's possible to set up a marine tank without any skimmer or filter

  13. Here are the features: * Dimensions : 8.5 x 5 x 5cm * Power : 4.5W * Flow : 900 l/h You can hide it behind the rocks. Those kinda pumps are better for a reef because they generate a large flow that moves a large quantity of water. It oxygenates your tank, raise PH and brings food to your corals. Corals don't like direct flow. In your tank, the biological filter are the live rocks. So you don't need any pads. If you use canister filter, it could produce an excess of nitrates in the tank. Bad for the corals. So better not to use that kind of filter. Live rocks and weekly water changes are enough for a nano tank
  14. Living for the city - Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJYUSdX-Rps ps : there's no code ?
  15. Yep. A pair of clowns need 100L... About LED, they don't give the spectrum range on the website :-? For low light coral, as discosomas, may be it will be ok with 10-15w leds. It depends on which depth you'll fix your corals. But you must check the spectrum range and care about the heat dissipation under the hood. 6500 K full spectrum light could be OK for some soft corals. I raised discosomas, zoanthus and parazoanthus with. But there's an absorption peak for the chlorophyll b in the blue (around 430 nm). So may be blue led are useful too. As for me, I added blue leds to the 6500K bulb i used in my nano. Gobies and shrimps are Ok for this tank Trimma cana Eviota pellucida Stonogobiops yasha who lives in a symbiotic relationship with the Alpheus Randalli shrimp. Stonogobiops dracula Stonogobiops xanthorhinica Stonogobiops nematodes Thor amboinensis (sexy shrimp) Lybia tesselata (boxer crab, very interesting to watch) Gobiodon okinawae etc.
  16. Thanks One month and half. Red seaweed is Asparagopsis armata. I love it too. Very sweet to touch and a lot of micro fauna in it It's a 68 liters tank and there is about 40 liters of water.
  17. At first, I thought to remove the corals from the nanotank. But I changed my mind. I'd like to set up a marine planted tank. I'm fond of seaweeds ! There's a lot of species with so interesting morphs, colors and so on. So it will be a mediterranean tank Presently, there are no inhabitants. Because a DSB take a long time to set up (about 6 months).
  18. (mistake : i clicked the wrong button)
