So I've been looking at moss aqua scaped tanks on youtube and it got my thinking... are there many mosses that one could easily obtain in this country for a tropical aquarium?
And would any one be able to list them/places to get a hold of different types
sometimes you can get a bunch of neons that just die and could be they get eaten by the scavangers. there can be a number of reasons ie inbreeding, from infected stock and so on. they are so popular that their rate of breedeing causes lots of problems
hey just to all the drift wood fans on this blog, does anyone know any good places to find nice drift wood in or near palmerston north? I'm looking for peices that look like roots for my 60L to be planted tank
the charcoal part is just like the carbon. my mother used to put it i with her bulbs to keep the water clean. And i have used beach drift wood before. i boiled it a few times then left in a barrel of water till it was waterlogged (lol) and have had it in my tank since feb with no problems. how ever i have also had other drift wood start to errode in other tanks. the wood needs to be hard not soft and if the wood can be rubbed off it will do this in the tank. hope that helps
i tried to do this in my 300l with the heater and filter behind but i ran into problems. I used a nontoxic cement but in turned out oo heavy.
What have you used?
Also what did you use as a base?
i just used pollystirene and of course ran in to boyancy problemes.
I ended um just axing the whole idea which was a bit of money for me down the drain, but i'm keen to try it again on my 60l.
Mine too we could probably sort something out. i only think most are still too young. I've had a few bad expereinces buying young ones from shops, they don't handle the stress well.
ok so i keep finding more and more little guys in my comunity tank and took the 4 parents out over a month ago lol. think i have about ten from atleast 3 different spawings. any one got hints on how to catch them whit out moving all my gear out of the tank. will wait till their bigger first
ok so my planted tank is aways off. Are bristle noses very territorial? will the two males survive ok in the same tank with females? one is bigger than the other by a bit
I know you at Massey in Palmy i think alot of the BSc's to do with thuis type of thing, eg zoology, Ecology... you need bio and chem, math and english and only a few papers need physics
