  4. i got sand pitt sand from bunnings and it works great. just have to give it a a good wash and after that tank was still merky for a day or two
  5. i only really want one more as i have my swift harequins. just need one more type of schooling fish. thinking emerald eye rosbora now
  6. i feel really bad now. maybe i can bring this game back from the dead.
  7. i dont think so. look on the native page on FNZAS and the ones that are threatened i wouldn't recommend but you just go out and catch them. don't think there are permits like with native reptiles
  8. it is expensive though. several grand just for set up
  9. my mum transformed her 190l aqua one into a fish marine. she needed some live rock in it and used and external but had to do some adjustments to the lighting etc.
  10. you could try natives? ones that like ponds or slow flowing water. or go hunting tadpoles
  11. I'd like to thank my mum, my friends and my new baby pandas 8)
  12. thats if he gets cought dumping. though would have thought for the seller just freezing them then using for compost would be easier. specially if it was someone who had no clue as some do
  13. their not gourami thier rainbow fish. i already have 5 dwrf gourami
  14. how big do they grow? i've only seen the large rainbows
  15. let me know if they do :bounce: looks like i may be have more yellows in my tank lol
  16. wow indeed. can we get good looking ones over here? and do they school? i think i may have found my fish. what colour are the ones you have?
  17. probably 4-5cm. yea do look good. i'd only be having about 13 max as i want to geet my swift harlequins and get their numbers up to about the same. they look real good when they school but just need that different colour another school will give me. I'm thinking about black neons, emerald eye rosbora ( which if i'm correct in htinking they're smaller could get more). do hatchets school? or just sit at the top? There is nothing wrong with neons just wanting to see if there are other fish i could have instead. will put my 4 neons left into my plant growing tank.
  18. yea i used to have a bunch in my 90L with my rams back at halls. wand a diff colour to what i already have in my tank as in my signature
  19. very true. i liked the neons for the splash or red and blue they gave to my tank. i have mostly yellows, oragnges and black. i've had conch blue tetras they were awesome. thinking emerald eye or black neons. something that has and stand out ish trate. and reasonble sema size as the neons
  20. i thought the emerald eyes stay the size of ember tetras?
  21. ok so when i satarted my large community tank, 300L, my first and tester fish were neon tetras and of course didn't school like i was hoping. now i only have 4 left and was wonder what i could replace them with. i have 9 haliquins and might get a few more so something different to them but still similar to the neons. not really keen on cardinals as they get bigger than i would like. All suggestions welcome
  22. ok so last count i had about 9-10, i think, gave 4 to oscnz so got bout 5 or 6 would try put pics up of the lil guys but i can't take pictures to save myself let alone resize them.
