Welcome deeali! Post a message on the "Private Trade and Exchange" section of the forum if you are after something to buy. 8)
  2. I forgot to say Welcome to the Forums P55. :bounce:
  3. *waits for Phoenix44* I don't know much about Axolotl's, but isn't discus tanks meant to be around 28-30°C? Will axolotl's be comfy in that higher of a temperature? Also will the discus nip at the axolotl, or the other way around?
  4. Really? Still...I don't even like "Shark Week" on the Discovery Channel.
  5. I love my CF1200. Had it going for a few months and still very quiet, and it's right next to my bed.
  6. ] Me too. Even parallel importers sell foreign plug phone chargers with adaptors.
  7. Thanks guys. He's look a lot better today. Not sure what the problem was....
  8. I agree too. I've read so many times that the babies like to hide in plants (ie - Java moss) near the bottom of the tanks, but have always found personally that they swim towards the light and hide up near the floating plants.
  9. You can never resist a good fighter can you Steph?
  10. Since you are using the same filter - That should pick up the slack well enough before the sand builds up the good bacteria. So mini cycle as Ira said.
  11. ....anyone? I can't try the pea thing because I don't have any pea's.
  12. I was contemplating that, but was not sure since it had the yellow head too. My ones just have the yellow on the head.
  13. I have noticed a lot of red around the gills, or is that just the normal colouring? ...it's hard to tell from your photos?
  14. I think Omaria is referring to this thread about her oddly behaving live bearer. As the other's have said Omaria - you get different opinions from different people. Just remember that we are trying to offer advice to help, some of which are from our own experience. But there are always bound to be differing opinions.
  15. I added three medium silver dollars to my tank about three days ago and they have all settled in fine now, except I noticed this morning when I turned the tank lights on that one of them (the biggest) now seems to have swim bladder issues? It basically swims in circles, trying to swim downwards in desperation. If it stops swimming it starts to float towards the surface. Poor thing must be tired from continuity having to swim. The other two are swimming normal. Any ideas? I was thinking of trying the de-shelled pea trick for constipation, incase that's the problem... :-?
  16. All of them? Sounds very lethargic of them. Have you tested the water parameters?
  17. Either the fish was not well, and couldn't fight the current and got sucked against it and died, or it died before and then got sucked up against it. Usually the first though. I found a silver tip tetra in the same situation once. I thought it was dead at first but after pulling it off the inlet I noticed it was still alive, but it didn't survive much longer.
  18. Welcome to the Forums! 8) Feel free to ask as many questions as you like, there are some very knowledgeable fish keepers on here that are happy to help. It's also a good idea to put you location in you profile by going to User Control Panel (top right). That way people that are local maybe able to help (ie- the best places/stores to go to in your area), or in other ways if you ever need it.
  19. That whole you won't have three exams in a row will be a lie. Even with two exams a day schedule there is still MAJOR clashes!!!!!!! and if you have a clash you must do the exam early, which is a disadvantage. Two exams on one day is bad enough. It is horrible, and as P44 has said it is MENTALLY draining.
  20. The uni is considering scheduling THREE exams per day instead of two!!! http://www.auckland.ac.nz/uoa/cs-exams-three-per-day Although it says I still think its a bad idea!!!
  21. Try http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=betta. A lot of the pictures on flickr are free to be used for non commercial use. But check that before you use any.
  22. He's whipped... Get him to post in the welcome section - so I can tell him he's whipped....
