  5. ok maybe the bulbs i got are the wrong sort, but i rember being told that 840 is the type to get, any suggestions to cheap bulbs i could get?

  7. ok , well its getting dark now so will start taking some pics soon, but i will give you a quick update of whats happening with the tank. yesterday i fianlly got my new T5ho bulbs (54w , cool white 840 phillips) these are ok right? also have gained alot more new plants some include red mac,christmas moss, val will be removing all fish this week and setting up co2 , then only adding back ,my fancy cories i already have (exculding peppered long finns,bronze,albino,albino sterbai) and ( i have ordered 4 skunk cories, 4 Cory agassizi-sodalis from the new german import) also have order 30 harliquins, and i am looking into 3 solid red discus

  11. really, i have had problems with them dying at higher temperatures
  12. the bristlenose wont handle the high temps i think :-?
  13. yes aggreed, never start off with few plants as algae will take advantage and take over

  16. yeap, i have had the same water in mine for 3months, none has evaporated, which means the water is not leaking anywhere
  17. i have one of these, they do have a check valve in them, and work great
  18. jbl novo tabs, they are great for growing my young fry, really see them grow :thup:
  19. ohh sorry :facepalm: :oops: :oops: :oops: , but my point of view with fish tanks is they can never have to much filteration (within reason , like dont go putting a pool pool filter on a 100L tank :slfg:
  20. well i dont no much bout marine, but id say the more media you have the better, cos it can hold more bacteria to use ammonia etc, so 2 would be better
