hi guys,i went into a pet shop the other day and some of their tanks had a black,very fine gravel like stuff in some of their tanks,it looked amazing against some of the green plants! the girl who was in there didnt have a clue what it was and they didnt have any in stock,have you got any ideas what it is called??? . i have just redecorated my smaller display with half gravel,half sand on a raised up rockery with plants all over it, was going to do the same on my bigger tank but after seeing that im going to wait and see if i can do the black stuff on two levels instead.

kribensis are nice to have in a smaller tank,they are great parents its fun to watch them with the babies on the other hand they are quite common discus? or do they need larger tanks?

its on the list of things to get,dont worry,if i do go marine,ill do it properly. dont want to fork out that much for the fish to then mess it up lol,thanks for that livingart ill check that so much to think about with marine but then on the other hand the fish are beautifull

had a chat to world of water abd they get them in a few times a year,same with the goldfish bowl,might take a trip to rotorua and have a look,that is if i decide to swap my big tank to marine dont know yet

hi guys,i have a tank setaside for my kribs and fry but my female is getting very very agressive,want to take the fry away now they are big enough and put them in my fry tank with my betta babys as i can feed them better that way,are they ok to leave their mum now?

lol i know the draw towards marine is getting harder....i saw a paracanthurus hepatus (dory from finding nemo lol) yesterday at the fish bowl and wanted it soooooooooo bad especially as my big tank has just been emptied and i have it spare now.....must......stay......away......from....marine

boiled up egg yolk,mixed into a paste works a treat

she only bred with one male....my best male and they got on like a house on fire and after breeding neither would have a scratch on them!!! but then he died (he was really old) and she now tries to kill any male i put her with just found a male she seems to like now tho.....she just has high standards lol

red jewels,so would two to a bag be better?...no food,got it some are adult others are half grown

also i can only find 1 courier that will take them....fastways for 20 bucks,can you suggest other good couriers? nzpost couriers wont take live fish

hi guys i have sold my red jewels and i am shipping them to hastings from cambridge,just checking im doing it right,i have a poly box,am going to seperate them 3 to a bag,have a heatpack to go in and going to put a little bit of bloodworm in each bag to keep them going,i will pad out any space with newspaper and seal the polybox with masking tape. is that right??

ive tried bbs and icroworm but i find that my bubs grow much faster on egg yolk,i just have a sponge filter going all the time to clean up the gunk and use a syringe to suck up any extra,when they get bigger i swap to daphnia....that gives them a huge growth spurt

wow adodge just had a look at a post with some pics of your fighters....they are beautifull! where did you get them from? i saw that the fishbowl in hams gets some nice ones in occasionaly....theyr all so small tho!
