  1. Is doing very well Has sprouted many baby plants we have re planted here and there!
  2. Hi, i had same issue, had to treat 3 times with prazi before flukes went away. You can get prazi at hollywood fish farm, $25 for 50ml. Dosage is 5ml per 80L Good luck!
  3. I have loaches with my discus, they are fine. The loaches are so fast, so sometimes spooks the discus, but they are fine
  4. Yea! All is well now :nilly:
  5. Parents blue cobalt. 2 months old. Feeding with Spectrum discus formula 1mm pellet, 6 times per day. Sorry about moving the camera sideways, didn't really think that one through!
  6. http://www.fishkeeping.co.nz/ Best discus in auckland.
  7. WOW. Thats a BIG tank. Very very nice for some big clowns!
  8. Very nice! We had a rock formation like the one on the right of your tank, our clown loaches slept ontop of it as if they where the lion king. Was very funny. They should love it!
  9. Here is a new video of one of the fry, it is able to swim around perfectly fine, but has a Massive stomach. This seems to be how the others started out, then eventually get so fat they cannot swim properly. Still trying to figure out if this is bloat or Swim bladder disease! My water quality is absolutely top, and has been all the time.
  10. Hello, Ive stopped putting these in over the last few days, still getting one or two per day getting massive stomaches. Im only feeding brine shrimp now, and smaller amounts. They consume all the brine in under a min, and im feeding 4 times a day. However, still getting fat fish. I did a short dip salt bath on one of the bad condition fish, looked like it worked temporarily. This fish is not fat again today.
  11. Plattys have such great personalities. Love them! :nfs:
  12. Thanks, if thats the case, i might try the short dip treatment shown here: http://www.oscarfish.com/article-home/healthdisease/119-fish-bloat.html However, id like to get some more opinions first.
  13. Ok, still getting more dying They look fat, it doesn't look like flukes! Ive looked everywhere! I cant seem to figure out what this is, or any similar symptoms. Here is a video of one of the currently sick fish. Please let me know what you think could be causing this! Could it be the food tablets i put in the tank once a day? Maybe some fish eat more than others and maybe to much? Thanks
  14. Thanks for the help people. Everything looking good now. Seems like i wont need to do a second dose!
  15. Yea the instructions just have dosing, not anything about water changes. Hence why im asking!
  16. Thanks, picked some up from HFF, Ive dosed the tank, right after a water change. Should i do smaller water changes to allow the medication to stay in the tank? Or just continue as normal? Cheers
  17. Hi Ron!! Cant seem to find anything online. Ill ring around the fish shops tomorrow.
  18. Where can i get prazi from? Cant seem to find it on HFF website. Cheers
  19. I think I've had an outbreak of gill flukes :< Today 4 fry are floating at the top of the water, mouth aimed upwards breathing rapidly and their gills look like they are sticking out a bit. Is this gill flukes? How can i treat it? If not what might it be? Thanks...
  20. Thanks for all the info!! The fry are around 4 weeks 2 days old. When we feed them the brine shrimp, we use a large turkey baster to suck the brine out, and then squirt it straight into the tank water included. However, i doubt the salt in the water would be enough to hurt the fish, since we use about half a table spoon per 500ml. Cheers
  21. Hi thanks for the replies, ill up the temp to 30 and see how that goes. We had none dead today. All fry are looking nice and healthy fat and active
  22. Hello 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, unsure the nitrate, but it wont be high, i do 2x 30% water change every day. One in the morning one at night for total of 60% change per day Water temp is 28.5 degrees. Tank is 110L. There are about 40 thumbnail size baby discus in the tank. We keep light on all day, and a dim night light at night. (should i be still leaving this on?)
  23. Hello i need someone to help me figure out why this Discus fry died. We have been getting one every day or two die like this. They all seem real healthy. Could it be overeating? (We feed live brine 6 times a day, and put tablets for them to nibble on overnight) Here is a photo. Thanks
  24. Ive been advised to flush him It will be hard since he looks real healthy and is great entertainment. However, it could just be that he is overeating... His gills seem a bit red, so maybe flukes? (but hes been like this for a month now and not died) I feed the fry 6 times a day on hatched brine shrimp, then give them a pellet multi at night to nibble on. (trying to find an excuse not to cull him!)
