  1. yeah i've heard about that too, so i just pop into any pet store n ask for an ex aquarium? ta
  2. OMG!!!! that's a beauty!!!!!
  3. wait i think i misunderstood that... did u say u made kelly tarlton's tanks? or u got them from KT?
  4. not looking for one that's too big, maybe 50-60L? Kelly tarlton makes aquariums???!?!?!?!? that's amazing.
  5. any albinos left? quite keen to get me hands on some tbh.
  6. So are they actually "cold" water guppies? like u don't really need a heater for them?
  7. sorry not really a DIY person here but i guess that's the whole reason of me being in this forum... from the photo that i've seen so far, isn't it a lil difficult to get your arm above the tanks? seems like quite a small space.
  8. live food, Brine shrimps, cow heart ftw!!! LOL i thought phosphorus was bad for fishes?
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that an Endler? it looks like an Endler x Guppy hybrid... sorry been reading up about them recently and was wondering if any LFS would stock Endlers.
  10. Anyone know of any good tank makers here? Best if on the shore.
  11. OMG WHAT IS THAT!??!!??!?!?!? that's like the biggest loach(?) i've seen in my life man!!! didn't even know aquarium fishes could live that long. Great job keeping it!!
  12. darn what a long list... i knew that there was much more than getting wood off the beach... reckon there's a shorter way?? lol
  13. So I would guess that BBS would be best for guppy fry and then this mix when in the community tank then... would it be good for priming them up for breeding as well or live food better? I was thinking of going beef heart mixture, white worms and BBS as a diet for guppies.
  14. or a small fish oh serene one... lol *refers to buddha tank* puffers are saltwater fishes right? >.<
  15. leave the guppies alone maaaaaannnnnnn.......
  16. Yeah I've read that piece already, so basically any wood found on the beach is driftwood then... hopefully will be able to find some nice small pieces there... otherwise it's gonna be hard to fit it into my tank... T.T
  17. Now... I live like 10 mins away from Browns Bay Beach and the other beaches around the north shore of Auckland... If I were to pop down and grab a piece of wood off the beach, how do I know if it's driftwood? If I were to just spray it down would it be alright to go straight into the tank or do I need to quarantine it and do heaps of other stuff to it?
  18. 6 tanks for 471 + drilling and dividers?!?!?!?!? dang that's pretty cheap... anyone knows any good tank makers up here in auckz? T.T
  19. The way I was thinking about it... was to have a community tank in my home where I can show off my fishes, have a holding tank for the males and different holding tank for the females somewhere else in my new home, haven't even found one yet... and then bringing selected guppies to breed in the breeding tank. probably gonna take some random bunch of guppies to start off with and let them breed the heck outta each other and find a strain that i like... hahah
  20. ok now last question... I've been thinking and trying to design an organic(?) filter system... you know how we have those water filters that have rocks, stones, pebbles etc etc, and you can drink from them? is it possible to create something like that for aquariums as well? or would that cause the water to become too hard / soft? also i'm gonna go with a 60 x 30 x 30 for a community tank and hatchery, should 30 x 30 x 30 be enough for a breeding tank?
  21. do you guys not do anything else except watch the forums all day?!?!?!?!??!?! everyone's replying so quickly!!!!!
  22. grab some for me?!??!?!?!? lol, 100gm for a year? how many BBS do u hatch per time? so if i get a one pounder... i won't have to buy any for the next couple of years then... >.< so do we not have any guys selling local BBS eggs? coz i was reading about PJ's case and it seemed like those came from the USA as well.
  23. so... with breeding killies.... does it have as much variety as the guppies?
  24. dang that's a nice setup... I'm guessing the top tank is the community, mid tank is breeding and bot tank is the hatchery? Did you have to cut a hole in your tanks to put the tubes in? how did you cut it?
  25. I'm thinking of some floating plants like Indian fern(?) and maybe some low and medium length plants... I've heard that fluorescent light is quite good for aquariums? I've been thinking and trying to design an organic(?) filter system... you know how we have those water filters that have rocks, stones, pebbles etc etc, and you can drink from them? is it possible to create something like that for aquariums as well?
