  4. The birchir is carnivourus and is fine with fish that cant fit in its mouth. 9. I have a exo terra compact canopy they are great! I would go for the dual canopy as more light And if you wabt the tank to be warmer you can have to halogen bulbs in it. Oh and if you do get a compact dont put and bulb that produces alot of geat in the fixtures i did and it melted the plastic sides of the thing
  10. I haunt seen any albino reptiles in nz besides native animals but in Australia this art painter bill flowers who paints reptile works at a zoo with an albino bluey one from the while which had been attacked buy a cat a video of it on you tube it is a bright yellow eyes look different from a normal bts and it's tougne is not blue but pink. It looks really cool.
  11. I remember watching a medical video and these people bred flies to produce maggots for hospitlas so they would eat all the bad flesh and leave the good flesh behind for patients with infected skin that was rotting apparently maggots will only eat rotting flesh and leave good stuff behind so they should pose no threat to a living animal if this is true unless it's like got mouth rot or something like that maby that's why the turtle Donna got had maggots in it mouth?
  12. Most animates stores in Christchurch are pretty good staff there won't sell fighters without a heater and say bowls are two small for goldfish
  13. Man that would suck will keep a look out for two leopard geckos.
  14. The blue blow flie I think would be fine but the yellow bore blow flie I heard can be a problem but i havnt had any problems but my gecko won't seem to eat ow flies it will only eat house flies it could eat a blow flie they arent big for it but it still dosnt.
  15. Antwan- no it wasn't a scat it was a type of fish from africa its in my tropical fish book. Malevolentsparkle- Yes thats the one! they are cool i would like to have one of thoes with the birchir
  16. Would an ornate birchir be fine in the dimensions i put before as i know a senegal would just not sure about ornate. I saw a pic of a sengal birchir that was white but didnt have red eys do they alway look like this or is it a special morph or something as they look really cool like that! And i am definitely going to get a leaf fish i saw a fish in organism that was yellow and had orange spots and kinda looked like a leaf fish but wasn't i will get one of those to if i can it all depends on the birchir size
  17. I am not a big fan of fire eels but they are cool. It is 100x52x41 I still haven't picked it up yet those are the dimensions from the auction I won. Done some research on Senegal birchir and it will do fine in those dimensions. Just wondering what other fish possibly leaf fish? And I would never keep an arow in this tank I was just curios at what space they need etc any other good sugestions for other fish to go with looking for odball fish that are not to common.
  18. Well i might be getting a 200 litre tank and was wondering if any polypterus fish could go in their i am especially interested in the senegalus. Is this tank a good size i heard 50 gallons was good from google but just wanted to make sure and see if i could keep any other fish with it? possibly a leaf fish. Oh and quick question what is a minimum size tank for an silver arowana?
  19. For dragons like beardy's etc. They don't have many heat receptors on their underside so heating from below they do not feel, If i the heat rock did over heat they would not feel it in time and get burnt. Something like a blue tongue skink or leopard gecko will feel the heat rock if it were to over heat and hop off, Exo-Terra has a thermo stat and is water resistant other heat rocks like reptile one i have noticed say nothing about a thermo stat and nothing about being water resistant or water proof if say a wet water dragon decided to sit on one of these it could get electrocuted. Hope this helps
  20. Didnt orana get in trouble for not enough light and uv for the tuatara aparentley there is a crack down about uv on zoos read it in the paper about 5 months ago
  21. Oh cool i will have to get that done
