  1. Haha, this all seems so technical!

I just sealed up the lid of a soda bottle with some airline in it, checked it, chucked it on the filter outlet and let it bubble away. Platy doesn't seem to mind and the Rams 'n' Ottos seem unaffected.

  2. I'm currently running two 30w tubes over my 3ft aquarium, the plants used to grow sweet as. I let the bulbs die out and then replaced them but the plants (even new ones I put in) aren't doing well. I'm getting really sick of it.

Should I just sell it and get three or four CFL's wired to one plug?

    Thanks

  3. Also would one 1.25ltr bottle be enough for a tank this size or should I have two?

I'm running one 1.25L bottle on my 54L and it's flying along. Got four 18w tubes over it (no special plant growth tubes) and I have a serious algae problem. I don't have a bubble counter but they seem to be popping out very frequently, the pH dropped from above 7.5 to below 6 in under a week and has stayed at that level. But my plants have produced visible O2 bubbles for the first time ever so I'm stoked.

So unless you're running decent lighting, don't CO2.

  4. I got nearly no school work done today, too many ideas whizzing around in my head  (We need a new LOL emoticon, that one looks like a twitchy lip!).

I'd like to conceal the heater under the land part and run a pump (also concealed) up the back and make a teeny liddle water fall.

  5. I always take lots of pics! Be patient, I still have to wait for my acrylic lids to arrive so I can replace my old glass ones and use the old glass ones to make a tank. Reduce, re-use, recycle!

Yeah, I was thinking flat rocks too, perhaps siliconed into place? Making a background seems like a bit of a pain in the rear end but if I can track down some epoxy resin then I'd be keen to give it a go.

How else could I secure the rocks?
