Tell me about it! I don't even get $10 a week, this is a very expensive hobby. But I do most of my stuff DIY. DIY CO2, light fittings from hardware stores/TradeMe, plain sand, etc. I tend to rip everything down when it turns to custard but you might not have that option? JMO and HTH

My fish like flakes and easy to come by. What fish do you have? I keep nothing over 10cm so flakes are great for smaller mouths.

Epiplatys annulatus, a.k.a the clown killie? I'm not expert but I like the look of these, don't think they're annual and seem to be easy to breed (I got one accidentally in some Riccia).

Macro, high ISO/sports mode, only lighting directly above from the tank, flash if you want to show platinum or metallic colours. HTH

I hope you have someone who wants to buy them, VT's aren't in very high demand with breeders. Pet shops and people who want them as pets might take them though. Definitely add something for him to build his nest under. HTH and good luck.

We use Revolution on our cat. We suspected she had fleas once but nothing other than that. We dose her every month, no two ways about it.
