Hey guys. Just been looking at some Kunekune piglets on TM and was wondering if we could keep one even though we live in an urban area. According to our local city council bylaws (3.2), we can keep one if it's not annoying anyone or doing any harm, right? I got that off the local councils website. Means we need to apply for a permit, right? Thanks

As soon as it hits the surface (I'm guessing 3 days max) I'll trim and replant. Nowhere to put it really without creating a front of tank wall

Yeah, it looks about that much. It's almost doubled its growth in the past 3days since I put 2 CFLs on it.

So I can see I'm doing a time lapse of the tank, two photos a day (except today :oops: ). It's going to be wicked. Mine has long gaps

I'll be building it into a lighthood so reflectors aren't an issue, I'll just paint the inside white. Which brings me to my next question... The lights are just over 4ft long but the aquarium is exactly 4ft long, how do I make a lighthood that fits?

I got my 4ft 865 tubes from Mitre10 mega for Under $5.00, too bad one's faulty How does this look?

Under $50. I'm taking back that faulty tube tomorrow, looking through TM at the moment. Haven't seen any place like that Jen

Hey guys, I've recently discovered that along with buying a dud tube one of my double T8 ballasts isn't working any more. Meaning I need to illuminate a 4ft (40cm high and deep) well enough to grow most plants. But, there's a catch, I'm on a budget so nothing really expensive. Should I just get a new ballast or is there a better way? Thanks -Sam

I recently doubled the amount of light on my 60x30 tank and with the CO2 my Ambulia is going crazy, daily noticeable growth and heaps of pearling. The tops of mine are also red, nothing to worry about, it's actually a good sign. HTH

If this is done correctly, I see no harm in it. They way Thai breeders condition and clean the water in their jars is amazing, if they don't keep them perfect then there goes their money. But I get your point about the other things Morcs
