  1. Mines just flowered to. Have read that they self pollinate and the helping hand wont go astray. The flower will wither away then the seed pod will burst and spread the seed through your aquarium. I was going to put some stocking over the pod and try and catch the seed. Anyone tryed this or any other ideas ?
  2. Black lines will eat it fast make sure you get the ones where the line runs right to the end of the tail not the ones with the goldish tail. Young ones will eat it more than the older ones and would rather eat the new growth than the older bba. Also florush works well but you will need to target it with a suringe with a tank your size will turn red and the black lines will eat it.
  3. I use one of those in my 650ltr tank to spread the co2 more evenly the fish seemm to love playing in and out of the direct flow.

LOL. Got you thinking have I. Found a clause with the flourish you have changed to its more of a micro nutrient not a macro so you would have had better growth with the sera fert. Im currently using the flourish NPK range ,nitrogen, phosphorus & potassium also adding iron for the red plants. Cant comment on the growth yet only been using it for a week now. If this doesnt go well ill be looking into making some PMDD to. Have alittle bit here i got off hans if you want to give it a go.

  15. I've just gone for the jbl aquabasis think that manado is more of a gravel than a plant substrate
  16. Its more about the filtration than the flow rate isnt it ? Its no good if the waters just wizing past the bio media rather than flowing through it picking up the good bactria. Where ehiems baskets are all sealed up together and water cant flow round the outside of the baskets. At this stage im sitting the ehiem side of the fence and thinking of paying the extra $200 for the quality
  17. Hi my names Max I'm looking for a female im just over three years old and live in hamilton. My intrests are chasing birds, doing security laps of the property and guarding my humans. 19. Hi all Im looking at revamping my 7 ft planted tank and want to up grade my substrate. Currently using an actisubstrate it has been good for the last year but think its lost its guts as things seem to have slowed down (does say that it lasts seven years thou). Do you think i should change it ? What would be the best substrate on the market? What would be the best DIY mix ? Currently using t8's but going to upgrade to t5's thou. Will be growing vals, swords, sags, glosso, rotala, redpine, xmas moss, java fern and crypts
  20. can see your under standing on well stocked but with that much filtration and water running through there shouldnt be to much problems. you realy do like your large fish
  21. WOW!!!! This is a very good looking system am doing a simaliar system no where near as hi tech as this can i ask what sort of fish you are keeping & what is the resson for the power head moving the water around in the drum wouldnt the air stone do this enough. Im fully behind you with nylex fittings dont cheap out on fittings with mains presure bad news.
