  1. Huh?!? What!?! Two for one blue rams Where, how, now, me, me, me... Is this two for one deal still going or did I miss a killer of deal? Stu BTW- Pretty fish, especially the blue rams
  2. With the impending arrival of a new MUCH bigger tank I need a filter to do the job. Can you give me your recommendations for a 2000 litres per hour (or there abouts) filter. The AquaOne looks tempting but I'm unsure at the moment. Many thanks, Stu
  3. Here's a collection of zepto-reefers if anyone's keen... ...   Perhaps I should stop now. Stu
  4. Thanks. Hate to think what a femto tank would be.... Stu
  5. Nice vague question here and just out of curiosity; what's the break-point between a nano tank and a non-nano tank? Just a scope range (i.e. 70-100l) in litres would be nice Stu
  6. Freaky, my cake cutting is tomorrow... Stu
  7. I got Squeek from here- LADY GAYS PETS & GROOMING CENTRE, 18 ANZAC STREET TAKAPUNA, AUCKLAND, 09 488 6621 http://www.humdinga.net.nz/ladygay/home.htm Stu
  8. YES!!! He/She/It made sort of a squeeky noise when pulled from the tank; hence the name. Stu
  9. New fish... :bounce: He/She/It's a Striped Raphael Catfish The other fish is a tiddler BN pleco. Stu
  10. Was an IT wizz-kid, but after a trip to the art gallery said "I can do better than THAT!"... ...and currently to this day I am still proving my point Pay isn't as good as IT but at least it still keeps a roof over my head, food in my tummy; and the cat's; and the fishes, and I can go crazy get myself a new RC boat every now and then or a new bit camera stuff. And well supplied in my two vices... caffeine and nicotine Stu
  11. He's got a great big wound-hole thingy on this head! It looks worse than the pics can show The only way I can describe it is- it's looks like he's been shot and left to fester in steamy jungle. I've removed the corys to my quarantine tank and done 25% water change and added good dose of tonic salt. What is it? and How do I cure it? Stu
  12. I missed a real cracker of a good deal... well to my eyes a good deal; on TradeMe tonight. The auction finished during Doctor Who for mere $92 and would have been the perfect reef tank for the living room. Stu
  13. Yet to drop a fish, but out of sheer flukey luck I had hatchet fish jump straight into a net I was about to put in the tank. Stu
  14. Don't know if this is any help... two years ago I had to remove a model ship from a display case that had been sealed shut (imagine a fish tank but with all six sides siliconed'). I used one those retractable/snap-off blade knife and a hair dryer. I simply ran the hair dryer slowly in front of the knife edge to soften the silicon before it was cut. Stu
  15. ...you could try feeding them an air stone or two...   Stu
  16. Rusks?!? You mean I have to feed the poor little BNs a glorified version of Hard Tack... soon they they'll be demanding a daily grog ration Stu
  17. Yes there's two big pieces of driftwood and I'm yet to see them do any number twos... I know they like to rasp their mouths on course things like driftwood, zucchini, fresh algae chips, the filter intake  ... but the air stone seems a bit hardcore Stu
  18. No... I'm noticing little "dents" on the two flat side of the air stone that they are hanging out on... Stu
  19. Help! My three baby BNs are eating the air stone... a). This doesn't seem normal and b). How good (health wise) is this for the little plecos? Stu PS c). I don't really care about the air stone; dime a dozen.
  20. So painfully and hilariously true  Stu
  21. Two from Robin Hood Prince of Thieves... Sheriff of Nottingham- "Locksley. I'll cut your heart out with a spoon" Sheriff of Nottingham- [to a wench] "You. My room. 10:30 tonight" Sheriff of Nottingham- [to another wench] "You. 10:45... And bring a friend" ...and here's another sure fire flak generator... "Let there be light..." Stu
  22. I'm going to put my RC boat building skills to good use again this year and make a bunch of these (with slightly longer marble run) for friends this year- Stu
  23. Well thanks for your answers, I'll take due note of all of them. I didn't even consider the poor old corys with another bottom dweller in the tank. The long and the short of it is that I'd rather have hatchets then BGK if the $50 fish starts eating the $20 a pop fish Stu
  24. Seriously if you want a cat with a tons of GREAT personality I recommend getting one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maine_coon Stu
  25. Does anyone know if Black Ghost Knifefish and Marbled Hatchets would be compatible with each other? There will also be Green sevs, silver dollars, BN plecos, corys and one VERY placid Convict in the tank too. Stu
