    : Red Wormy Things

I hove found that the bloodworms love rotting whole bananas. from time to time I can net quite a large number of them.. but then again because of the rotting bananas I get more mozzie larvae as well and the daphnia numbers decrease.

    Killie eggs

with regards to tank size. Most killies would be fine in a tank that is 30cm x 15cm x 15cm. How do I know? I use them for my killies. just pop in a corner bubble filter and you are away. And I better advise you before Alan does "KEEP IT COVERED" Happy killie keeping
  3. When you drive to work don't forget to put the bucket of media in the Car
  4. Just be aware Riccia and Florish Excel don't mix too well If you are double dosing your tank to get rid of black beard algae, then I suggest you haul out your riccia and twisted val..... .... If not you will be left with mush... ... Trust me...it happened to my tank... twisted val and riccia have only just started to come back and it has been over a month.

  6. Oh... so you are the one. You mean I could of got it cheaper
  7. I got a Fluval 404 off trademe for $40
  8. I personally would just go for one 404 I myself am using a 303 for my 240L tank. and it seems to do a good job.. haven't cleaned it since the beginning of the year. Only using it cause it was the only one I had spare. Bigger the better I say
  9. not a problem. clown and striata loaches like to keep to themselves
  10. Hollywoods in Mt Roskill Check out PetPlanet as well.
  11. Get some loaches. Any kind, as most will eat snails. ie Clown Loach, Striata Loach, etc

    Mosquito larvae

any cold water fish comets, fantails, shubunkin, Blackmoor, WCMM.... the list goes on. Cheapest out of the lot would be you common comet Better still get a fine mesh net and net them out and feed your fish inside. Free nutritious food.
  13. Beautiful killies Kyle :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  14. Yep Clown loaches are docile and good in community tanks. They keep to themselves and don't bother other fish
  15. Check this out. http://www.trademe.co.nz/structure/auct ... d=40091531 and some say that you can't get anything for convicts
  16. I agree with Minchton Bring BAck Alan :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
  17. looks like a good idea you got easy access to shrimp let us know how you get along.
  18. alanmin... you need more than 1 clown loach to do a good job. I have 2 in my 4ft tank and don't really notice the snails now.
  19. If they are blobs of jelly then more than likely they are snail eggs. normal fish eggs are usually seperate and don't have a jelly holding them all together. Guppies are livebearers so no eggs at all which is pretty cool what you could do is to rinse the plants in some amonia first then give them a good wash with clean water. Or you could get a couple clown Loaches to control snails
