  5. I've located my heater just under the outlet for my filter so that warm water is pushed around the tank. Yes 2 heaters is recommended but if you budget doesn't extend to 2 x 200w then get one 300w. substrate I used is brightwater (dark shore sand) lights.. definitely double 4ft (aquaone) Filter... I like Fluval so recommend Fluval 405 there are others but I think in some cases it comes down to personal preferences. Jebao are also good, nice price too from www.deepblueaquarium.co.nz

  10. Niloc made a DIY canister filter using an old Keg. I beleive it worked really well too. try doing a search for it in these forums

Hello to All Just a small mention that we are having our first meeting of the year Date: 13 February 2007 Time: 7.30pm Where: Green Bay Community House Godley Rd, (Behind New World Supermarket) First meeting for Newbies is free. We will discuss fish (Really!!... not joking :lol: ) have a raffle of some sort. Serve you tea / coffee / juice at the end of the meeting.   18. the level indicators would work really well on the buckets that you are siphoning into. While you are busy gravel vaccing you sometimes forget that the buckets get full. Hmmm might consider getting one :roll:

  22. I have seen a lot of bowed corner tanks around the place. Well auckland at least Hollywoods and Jansens normally have them. Not the Hagen brand but similar.
