  2. really lucky I got this big award thingy at my school for academics at my school (thats right I'm a nerd :lol: ) and my reward was a new tank it's not too small (80 litre) but its a really good tank the make is jewel but got know idea what fish i'm gonna put in it I know I want some clown loaches any suggestions :bounce:

Hi guys does any one know any good places for field herping (looking for reptiles and amphibians) don't worry i'm not going to poach or anything i've just been field herping in aussie before and it was heaps of fun (two beardies and heaps of cane toads) and remember I live in christ church in the port hills thanks !!!

  5. for the heater i'm using an elite mini fifty watt sub heater used on my first fish tank which we sold by the way mum thinks brown tree whistling frogs are cool what are they like as a pet (don't worry i'm not going to put posts on that until were sure we'll get some)
  6. I'dont have any but do you have the NZ herpotilogical C liscence because it is illegal to keep them with out this liscence and did you know if you have the C liscence you can keep tuataras
  7. The only reason for the heater is that all year round my room is REALLY COLD (around 4 degrees in winter and about 9-10 in summer )

Hi guys I've got my terrarium set up for my fire bellied newt (except for the heater) it has heaps of stuff to hide on/in/under just wondering as a universal water temprature of 18 degrees I have seen peoples tanks with a pilot light on the top of there tanks is this just for lighting or is it for heating? and if so how much money should I spend on it and what temprature should I keep it at thanks!

  11. you guys are probably right I'll be able to find some juveniles around xmas until then I'll just keep improving there terrarium, finding out as much as I can to make sure they are happy when they come (by the way I got my terrarium a week ago and have started decorating yesterday it is about one and a half cubic feet and it is going to be ausome ) also I am still having trouble finding out what to feed them would they be all right with small meal worms and wingless fruit flys?
  12. sorry about the last post false alarm they were actually two for eighty dollars EACH and they were up in caimbridge so no point paying the same amount as I would here so i'm still looking never mind i'm guessing I'm going to have to pay eighty dollars each now just looking for someone in CHRIST CHURCH and will hold them for a long time
  13. they have got six of them at pet world checked a few minutes ago a bit out of my price range though and thanks for the advice dantezgirl been looking all over the net got the terrarium set up (just about :lol: ) and getting a few gold fish transport tanks for breeding my insects

Hi guys that last post THE SEARCH IS DRIVING me mad was taken to seriously it was JUST A JOKE apparently a bad one any way just wanting to know has any one got any chinese or japanese fire bellied newts will pay eighty bucks each decided to buy from a breeder so don't send me back to that bubble and squeak shop but maybe another shop would be ok. P.S I live in christ church city and want juveniles
  15. physics and science are not nearly as interesting as herpatology what I mean is that I think herpatology would be a more interesting and better paying job than physics

  17. I'm only twelve so obviously i'm not gonna be spending two grand on lizards so no leopard gecko colony for me but any way remember I don't won't to but one but about how much would you pay for one of them?

  21. as I might not have to wait for christmas any more for my new pet fire bellied newts (very happy) I should probably start cultuing my own live food of course I could always gett live food from pet shops the insect are not as good for reptiles and amphbians as ones breed by the owners and not in sterile insect labs so could any one tell me how to breed insects for fire bellied newts and also should have said this earliry but they like wax moths during the land stage right?

  23. the cockatiel thing happened about 4 to 5 months ago that bird was pretty awful it bit my finger REALLY! hard and took a bit off of it
