  1. Someone's a sucker for bling   It's too small though!
  2. too much effort. I have CO2 running on all my tanks and I don't turn it off at night. Discus are fine with it, and as long as your KH is fine your pH won't be swinging.
  3. why is there a goldfish in the river? :tears:
  4. shi.. shi.. ( ..) ....Shih Tzu
  5. pH neutral. Coral is what is used to harden it.
  6. I just had to drive back in the rain from NP to Palmy. Weather is not great, but nothing I can do about it.
  7. red mettnys. They were for sale here some time back. 2 shipmants came in IIRC a year and a bit apart.
  8. Well if you do want "nice foreground, midground and background plants" you will need to change the bulb on your tank. Some Crypts will be fine with incandescent lighting, but not much else. You need a 6500K spectrum bulb. It's an energy saver and is sold as cool daylight. Pick one up from placemakers.
  9. Yeah, but I like shiny things! !drool:  This has extreme bling factor
  10. Where are they? Never heard of them. Wetpets / Animates you mean?
  11. I was going to get the Bravia 40ex500, and then dad convinced me to get the LED - new technology and all. He will be buying the 60" version of the same TV for home, and so said that I should try the smaller version, and stay away from the LCDs. :dunno: So I bought that. I mainly will be using the tv for everyday TV watching, and maybe gaming later on the track. I'm a total miser with my money so it was hilarious watching me swipe my card and pay for it. It was like a little piece of me died. .. :tears:
  12. I bought a TV! :happy1: http://www.samsung.com/mea_en/consumer/ ... cification
  13. Crypts grow wonderfully under incandescent light.
  14. Those are tiny. What happened to them ?
  15. This is what is tempting me the most at the moment. http://www.bondandbond.co.nz/tv-home-th ... 02256.html Bishop - anything similar at yours?
  16. Changed my mind about that one. It's only 50Hz and I don't want that.
  17. who said something about the pots?  They are perfectly acceptable in this case. Plus your crypts are healthy! Where are those swords I sent you Joe? I'm sending Adrienne one and its grown faster than I expected because of my new ferts  so will be ready in the new year.
  18. Pencil fish! I have 50 cardinals in my tank and I can barely see them :nilly: 100 would be good.
  19. So far I'm liking the sony bravia 40ex400
  20. With the mix of the right plants and lighting you can.. I made my nano a 'blackwater' (not strictly true) but had the colour in the water to reduce the intensity of the lights and battle string algae - worked a charm. Plants did really well, but they were selected for based on the lights.
  21. Big difference between S.American and Amazon biotope. The Amazon doesn't really have a huge range of submersed plants. It's more woody. http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/c ... php?sid=31
  22. Welcome! It would be awesome if you added your location to your profile from the user control panel. Lots of info to be found on here if you do a search on the forum
