  1. Those pics are really awesome! what is fish number 3? looks s. american?
  2. Yeah, and the other common misconception many many people make is that they think the amount of S.A the media can hold IS the amount of bacteria that will be present in the filter. In reality however the amount of bacteria present parallels the amount of waste produced by the inhabitants of the tank.
  3. all these froggy avatars have me croaking with delight!
  4. Thanks! Pic 3 is the only one I would have considered entering in the competition. maybe I can enter something else in the future, but I don't really like entering pics in the comp that people have all ready seen.
  5. yeap. I do it occasionally. 1L of old eheim pro for 1L of new eheim pro. I only deal in eheim pro  I chuck the water and media in a bucket, deliver it - swap it. done.
  6. yes. not overly noticeable.... to the blind. $10 diffuser! come one. will be way better. plus those plants don't really need CO2 to grow. polysperma will grow flat to the ground with strong light and CO2.
  7. He/She?? came out today to eat his favourite tablet, so I got some pics while I could. Flatfish, please feel free to use any pics that you need. These pics are a lot better than what I have sent you before. I have 2 L66's, this one has the best pattern.

  10. not mr. turtle! I hope he is alright!
  11. curved edges, and tank holding capacity is not the same. to get an accurate measurement for that tank, measure the glass from the inside, upto your water level.
  12. they more often than not are naturally occurring.
  13. yeah. i felt pretty guilty feeding it to them. i mean i know it's just a worm, but earth worms are about as harmless and defenceless as worms get.
  14. ok, so if you do not want to see an earthworm being eaten by 2 puffers, please do not click on this link
  15. yes. you read what's written on the packaging on the heater and don't over analyse everything. :-?
  16. I have. I'll post it here, with a warning for the very Annelida-sensitive.
  17. plants! congofern that i chopped up, java fern windelov, phillipene java fern and certain mosses.
  18. does any one else feed their puffers, earthworms? I feel sort of mean feeding them to the puffers, cause the worm can't defend itself and it gets ripped up and and all snails not so bad - at least they can hide in their shells. least the puffers are happy eating them.
  19. This is how I do it: CO2 goes into filter intake - Filter - No mucking around, just the most simple method.
  20. glosso = fail are you willing to admit the lighting may have something to do with that?
