  1. The water doesn't seem to be very clear in some of those tanks. or maybe its just the photos
  2. I think that would be fine but its always to go thicker if you can. 8.5mm is good also.
  3. WOW I wish i found them in my garden. its a bit too cold down here tho. And i suppose i need a garden too

  7. Yea i thought i paid heaps but i really wanted them. I paid $30 ea for 10 of them
  8. Yes ive heard that a lot of people have done that but my tank is 400ltrs and has a larger surface area of concrete and will take a long time for the pH to go down. smaller tanks don't take very long And mine probably wouldnt fit in the bath  How big was your tank?
  9. I think his user name on here is 'surveyor'
  10. They look awesome. I was wondering if you could tell me the exact name of these pembas... I was told they came from you Thanks
  11. ok ive done 2 more coats of concrete, really solid now, and a coat of resin with a light coat of sand to avoid the glossy finish. ive also attempted to make some rocks the same way as the background but i don't think they look so good. So ive been driving around everywhere, rivers, creeks, beaches, finding loads of rocks. but after going through the 20-30 rocks back at home, only 4 of them work :-? So im going to need to go for another look to find more.
  12. Ive just heard too, was just about to post it. Very sad
  13. Who has time for patience these days
  14. Has anyone seen this. http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23529 found it on the net. It would be awesome to make something like this in a bigger room and have it full of cichlids or completely planted out And you could literally swim with your fishes
  15. OK so this morning the pemba has changed back to its original normal colour but its got me stumped as to why it had changed colour. maybe something about fighting over who is gona b 2nd in comand ...?
  16. Have a look at these pics and a video shows them fighting. They are a little over 3cm at the biggest and they have just started fighting, lip locking, nipping at each others sides etc. But it is only between two and one of them has gone a weird colour which is the most aggressive one. the dominant fish of the tank steps in every now and then and breaks it up and shows really nice colours when doing so but i dont know why one of them has gone the different colour. Any ideas? :-? do i have anything to worry about? dominant fish of the tank Weird coloured fish Video to follow when it has uploaded  there is no black on it now since photo was taken and it is picking fights with almost any fish
  17. lol ive seen that 1 ages ago too 8) My chest is still sore from the first one Its quite weird how the body reacts to it. Any1 know the reason for the sudden chest pain the body/heart recieves when it gets a fright? ive got a random interest weird body functions, like hiccups...? which i don't know the point in these either apart from they are to annoy me :-?
  18. BUT its still a good trick. Im going to make everyone i know try do it
  19. I hate you sooooooooo much with a vengance! it nearly made me cry! Not cool guys, NOT COOL AT ALL!
  20. Wow that looks awesome, i love the look of a well propergated and grown in planted aquarium. esp. yours but i prefer to look at other peoples tanks as ive never really had much luck with growing them so i jus stick to plain rocky biotypes
  21. Ok ive got the tank empty and drying, im going to do another thick coat of concrete as i can see some bits ive missed and they are annoying me even tho im the only one that can see them and know they are there Then im gona do a resin coat so seal it. should hopefully be done by the end of the week. fingers crossed :-?
  22. thats what i thought too but im so incredibly impatient its not funny. Has anyone else done just a thin coat of concrete and had it stop leaching after a few weeks? If everyone that has made a background like this could let me know how long it took them that would be very helpful. thanks in advance
  23. I will have to ask around and do some research on it.
